Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 49 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Almost excellent Plus: Wide mouth thermal carafe; compact; above average brew quality; carbon water filter; accepts standard coffee filters; good dollar value Minus: Very short cord; water fill access quite tight; as I grind beans fresh, balancing basket to fill outside of machine is annoying (I use large mouth cup to sort-of keep upright); using pre-ground coffee (too dry?) may cause overflow, as might taking quick pour while brewing cycle still going; while carafe lid doing double duty as brewed coffee receiver and thermal seal is clever, it pours out slowly. Non factor: clock and preset brew timer July 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by better than expected This coffee maker is very simple yet pretty fantastic. My husband makes coffee at 4 am and then I get up at 6 so I always got the burnt leftovers. I don't get that now because there isnt a heating plate to burn my coffee. Not only does this save a tremendous amount of electricity but I get fresh tasting coffee. The carafe does keep it hot for a long time as well. My only complaint is that it does pour slow. This is due to a flap that keeps the heat in. But I can live with this tradeoff. The whole appliance itself takes up much less counter space than my older grind and brew Cuisinart. Oh and it brews a pot of coffee very fast. March 6, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by disappointed I was excited the first time I tested this out after I received it. I like my coffee really hot and when I made a pot for the first time, it brewed hotter than I expected. However, I mainly make only 4 cups at a time and when I used the 1-4 cup feature for the first time, I was sorely disappointed. It brewed at 15-20 degrees less than a full pot. So now I am having to heat up my coffee in the microwave after it has brewed!! Totally rediculous! The 1-4 cup brew feature says it will improve flavor and temperature. The flavor is definitely better than my old coffee pot, I'll give it that but it is totally annoying and inconvienient to half to heat up your freshly brewed coffee in the microwave!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value for the price This coffee maker works well and is a bargain at the price. The carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours, and if you 'preheat' it by rinsing it with hot water first it will keep it hot even longer. The thermal carafe means the coffee maker is only on while brewing, shutting itself off once brewing is complete. So no worries about turning it off before you leave the house, and no energy consumption once brewing is done. It also comes with a permanent coffee filter of fine metal screening - so another energy saver, as you don't need paper filters. June 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I like the coffee maker not love it. I love the styling and how fast it brews. I really dislike the 5 LOUD beeps when it's done brewing. It has literally woken me up. I have no problem with that, I worry of it waking my kiddos one of these mornings. The only other feature I am not super excited with is how hot it stays. I sometimes take awhile to drink my pot and after and hour or two it's not as hot as I would have expected. Don't get me wrong, it's not cold, and it's better then fermenting on a hot plate ....just thought it would be better. Good not great coffee maker. May 8, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great. When it works... We were very excited to program and have our first pot of coffee in the new maker - the thermos kept it warm for quite a while. Good start. Then, about every 3-4 times we use it (especially if it's over 7 cups), the water stays in the filter area, coffee leaks all over the counter and the remaining coffee is 'espresso'. We still have the manual maker as a backup, 'just in case', which undermines the reason for the programmable coffee maker. Good when it works, but until I figure out the problem with it, no consistent. June 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I bought this machine because I did not want another glass carafe! I had a different maker with a thermal carafe but after several years it bit the dust so I went searching and was shocked at the price of the machines, when i came across this one the price was to good to be true! the one thing that the product guide did not say is it has a warming plate i do not like this as many coffe makers over warm {burn } the coffee, however this one shuts of when the coffee is done brewing, why do they put a warming plate on a machine with a thermal carafe? well I can honestly say it is the best carafe ever, I did not have to warm the pot before making the coffee as with my old machine, so I can set it up the night before, once i went back for the last cup 9 hours later expecting to have to heat it up but it was just as hot as the first cup that morning!! GREAT BUY!!!! January 31, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Makes a great cup of coffee! Pros: uses a cone filter. I like cone better than basket filters. I think it makes better coffee. Being a thermal carafe, the coffee pot doesn't need to stay on. Once the coffee is done the pot turns off. Bonus because I don't need to worry about turning it off. There's a 1-4 cup option. Double bonus for when I just want a cup or two. Cons: the cleaning function. You can't decide when you clean it. I woke up one morning and the clean light was on. I was going to make a pot then clean it later. Nope. It cleaned it as soon as I turned it on. It took a good long while before I had a cup. Not cool first thing in the morning. The indicator beep that lets me know the pot is done brewing is super loud. I get up early and even though I'm sure my kids don't hear it it makes me cringe. All in all, I love this coffeemaker. It looks sleek, doesn't take up a lot of room and makes a pretty good cup o' Joe. August 21, 2013
