Got this as a gift from our children to replace our very old broken Starbucks Barista which we LOVED! The pot doesn't keep the coffee hot very long. It is has to be cleaned VERY regularly as the pot top will get full of residue and start to overflow. It holds water where the plastic and the stainless come together so it will drip all over the place. You have to hold it totally upside down to get all the coffee out. The top of the pot is very hard to screw off and on. Sorry, but the novelty of being able to grind the coffee goes away soon, because this design is not perfect! I would never rebuy it. Actually trying to find a Starbucks Barista on Ebay.

If you love flavored, oily beans...do not buy this machine. It WILL clog. It took us a few months to figure that out...LOTS of daily cleaning and frustration. We switched to standard coffee beans and the problem was solved overnight.
If you love your coffee HOT...buy the GLASS CARAFE version. The stainless steel carafe does not come with a hot plate and the coffee goes warm pretty quick.
If noise is a factor, you can grind the beans before you go to bed. There is a button to push that tells the machine the beans are already ground. We even add the water at night, and wake up to fresh, quiet delicious coffee. Otherwise you can grind beans at night and add water in the morning.
OR you can keep a stash of pre-ground (flavored or not) coffee and use that when you need quiet coffee. Just push the same button that tells the machine it does not need to ground the coffee.
It's tall. We have to pull it out from under the counter every night to fill the water. First world problem, but some people don't have counters that will allow for the height. Make sure you have an open space or dedicated space.
Depending on usage, this machine lasts 4-7 years. Water leakage is a sign that it's going out. Like others have said, nobody repairs them once the warranty runs out. The coffee is delicious, it can almost match a French press.
Hope this helps. :)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JungleDoctor Excellent product, easy to use.
Excellent coffee pot. I've had this exact coffee pot for 5 years. It is used every day and still works as good as the day it was purchased. I've had to replace the carafe after about 4 yrs. it just didn't keep the coffee hot enough. The darker the bean used the more frequent the grinder needs to be cleaned. The darkest beans I've ever used required the chute be cleaned about weekly. If standard roasted beans are used the chute never needs to be cleaned. The top holds enough beans to brew about 3 full pots of coffee. This is an excellent product and will last a long time. I have no regrets about purchasing this pot - even after 5 years!

I know everybody loves the single cup Keurig machines now but I prefer this. A freshly ground cup or pot is awesome and VERY flavorful. I highly recommend.

I love freshly ground coffee, so this one is perfect. For a drip machine, this brews a great cup. The insulated carafe keeps coffee freshly hot for hours. The programming function is great. Also the strength control is a little nice extra feature.
The only cons about this would be I think it's a little more expensive to run since I think I go through more beans than I would w/ pre-ground coffee. Also it's noisy when it grinds the coffee, but that can help wake you up in the morning too if you're someone that needs a few extra alarms.
Highly recommended if you're not a coffee snob and want a decent fresh brew daily.

My unit broke within 6 months. I called Cuisinart regarding and they did not help at all. This is my third cuisinart grinder maker that broke within a year of purchase. The other two were the cheaper model grinder.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CoffeeLover Very Poor quality
If you want to pay top $$$ and use it as a display on your fancy countertop, get this product cause it comes in stainless. If you need a workhorse everday coffeemaker, stay away from this product. We bought 2 models of this machine. One without grinder and it broke. So we upgraded to with grinder and to this date, the second model will be move to the garbage dump LOL. This is NOT a good quality and definitely NOT durable coffeemaker if you actually intend to use it everyday. If for display only, GO FOR IT. Here are the reasons why I think its no good:
1. If you used this everyday, high maintenance meaning you have to clean it often with vinegar and water (at least once a month). Then every cleaning you have to rinse it thoroughly because you dont want vinegar taste in your coffee. We cleaned ours for almost once every two months and it still clogged up causing water to spill in our wood floor. This happened TWICE (yes twice) on both our models. And this happen considering we have filtered and softened water from our home system already. Terrible.
2. The carafe lid can clog causing water not to go through thus causing water spills. This happen twice as well. This one I am not sure how to prevent. I think its a design flaw but not sure. I stop asking but you can call Cuisinart before buying and ask. I know for sure it clogs.
3. Sometimes the rotating component inside the machine which holds the ground coffee can mis-aligned. It will eventually fall in place but you have to open the front loader and release the component and replace it back to reset it.
I think this machine is good if you will have coffee only on a weekend. But if you need a workhorse, look for something else. Maybe Technivorm Moccamaster is something to consider. I have mine running for months now. Will see. It does not have all the fancy settings you get from DGB Cuisinart but it will brew your coffee and it taste good! I will say this though, the grinder on the DGB is the only one that works. Not excellent grinder but at least it does not break. Good luck
