Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by Steve It actually does work . Disregard the instructions.
I've used this product on my smooth black granite counter tops for several months and it works great.
This product does leave a "film" just like any sealer.
Contrary to the instructions on the container, it's actually a two step application process.
First I spray the product directly on the granite and wipe it around with paper towels.
After the surface is dry, I finish by polishing with a dry paper towel (or dry cloth) which removes the haze and leaves a gleaming shiny surface that looks like it's been newly sealed.
Between applications, wiping the surface with a dry or slightly damp kitchen towel restores the shine.

I used to use Stone Specific brand products to clean my stone countertops, but Aqua Mix purchased that company and discontinued it. So, I bought this product instead. AquaMix has always made quality products - but I'm not sure what happened here. It left a film on my countertops - they were not clean & shiny. We had to use a different solution (Lavinet stone cleaner) to get the film off. It's unfortunate...they should bring back the Stone Specific products and not tamper with the formula!

I used what was probably the same product with a different label "Polished Granite Sealer by Stone Specific". 12 months ago it did a remarkable job of cleaning and polishing my already spotless countertops. It left them looking hardened, easier to clean and more shiny. This year, though, it left them looking cloudy and no longer smooth. Another reviewer stated his granite was left looking cloudy and feeling like it had a film on it after using this product. I called the manufacturer and they said the formula breaks down after two years, BUT THE BOTTLE HAS NO EXPIRATION PRINTED ON IT! They told me the stamp on the bottle which says 292.10.2718E11 means 292nd day of year 10 (I assume made October 2010). Thus my product was 2 years 2 months old. They recommended I use their Nano Scrub to remove the sealant - something I absolutely have to do because right now the look cloudy, unpolished and slightly rubbery. So, overall, this is an excellent product but you should call the telephone number of the bottle to confirm the serial #'s age, and only use it once. The remaining 75% will be useless next year when its time to reseal.

This was easy to use, but didn't really reseal my granite. It also left a film on my granite, and I didn't think it looked any more smooth or polished after I was done. I'll try a different kind next time.

I bought this product because the other granite cleaner/polish was no longer available. After I used it I was very pleased with the results! My counters look great!
