Customer Questions & Answers

Does this grout need to be sealed?

Asked by: ChrisDiMarioo
I would seal this grout or buy a different brand. I had my bathroom remodeled and the contractor used this grout to tile my shower. Had mildew stains on the floor within two months. Contractor cleaned and reapplied the grout, swore up and down it didn't need to be sealed. Well as you can see from the picture not six months later the mildew is worse.

This grout left a terrible residue and discolored my tiles! HOW do I get this off!

Asked by: leanna
aqua mix non-cement grout release...also for future tile projects use a product call "grout release" by aqua mix BEFORE grouting...goes on the tile preventing staining from grout

will this product also stick to wood?

I am installing tile next to wood, will the epoxy grout also stick to the adjoining wood floor at the marriage line?
Asked by: Suz52
Yes. I installed a granite tile countertop and used red oak as trim around counter edge. Before grouting, I stained the wood and sealed it and then masked it off with tape. I've had it installed about a month, now, and all looks well.

Where do I begin to describe the nightmare we experienced trying to work with this product. We were grouting wall tile which should have taken a couple of hours but turned into a day. This Fusion Pro grout is terrible. Because this grout dries so quickly we worked with one to two tiles at a time.....The instructions call for 3 to 4 minutes of application which is about 20 square feet. Their estimate was far off the mark. In addition, the grout did not easily adhere to the wall, half of the product ended up falling to the floor. By the end of the day we were just happy to end this grouting fiasco. Will never purchase this product again nor make a recommendation. Would have given zero stars for the review but I did not have this option.

I'm a general contractor and was encouraged to try this product by HD flooring dept. I should have gone with my gut feeling "to good to be true". its not for the beginner, and if you think this "all in one" approach is worth the try, don't. stick with a premium mortar when setting tile, and premium grout & sealer to finish, will it take more time....Yes. I'm calculating that my cost for trying this product on that customers shower will set me back $3000.00 including time and materials, not to mention the customer being upset with the issues involved. I wonder if HD really reads these reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Follow the directions My first grout job consisting of approximately 250sq of 1/4" lines on 1x2' tile. It turned out great. I received a compliment from my girlfriends dad who is a professional installer. Reading the negative reviews below is a bit frustrating. One way or another it seems a majority are simply not following the directions listed on the bucket(i.e. keep surface slightly wet, small areas at a time, clean methodically with sponge then microfiber etc) I don't usually write reviews but I do not think the product is being used correctly. ..or maybe I am a day 1 grout master. Either way i am looking forward to using this product in the bathrooms next.

Completely remodeled our master bath shower using this grout. MISTAKE! Installed Carrara marble hexagon tile on shower floor and porcelain tile for the walls. FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS EXACTLY. Within a few months had an orange mold grow over all the grout on the floor, then some spots had black mildew in the grout. Bucket says mold will not grow on DRY grout,... I guess that's how they get you. Cleaned grout using specific cleaner for the marble and grout. Orange film mostly scrubbed away using non scratching scrubbers. Never could get out black mildew imbedded in grout. Now black mildew has spread, I have just scrubbed most of the orange mold away, (for the 10th time ) and now for the final time trying to get the last of the black mildew. Same has another review below with marble tile and black mildew. HAHA Joke's on me because for marble you have to use certain cleaners or else you could etch or ruin the marble and guess what removes mold/mildew, bleach!!! Bleach cleaners can ruin the marble and Majority of bathroom cleaners out there say DO NOT USE ON MARBLE. So I have found only a few I am going to try use. Then once all is cleaned we are going to regrout the entire floor. Also the grout has come out and has pitted all over. We let the grout dry for over a week before we turned water on! Also like review below bucket say 3 days of dry time while online says 7 days.

My installation is on a concrete basement shower floor, no flex, solid frame. I will admit that it was not easy grouting the stone tiles and something that does a little more self leveling would have been nice. The product looks good and seem to be holding up. I used a grey color. Been in for almost a year Not sure why you could not use this on top of concrete? The only issue I could see is if it resuspends into solution or crumbles and this product shud not do either. ..... or it shud be sold at all.

Had to take entire shower floor up after using this product. Too thick, it sinks after an hour and then and does not set up, leaving voids everywhere. Total waste of money. Masonry professional said it was the poorest product he ever used. After discussing it with other professionals he knew they stated that they had the same problem and would not recommend this product to anyone. Cost over $500.00 for redo! Can't express how bad this product is.

We had 12 x 24 tiles installed throughout our house and the contractor recommended this new product that was stain resistant . We paid allot of extra$ for this grout and are extremely unhappy. the grout has turned a splotchy brown and white color. When we wipe in the grout lines the grout comes off directly into the rag. The grout is crumbly and extremely difficult for the installers to install, when wiping it pulls allot of the grout out of the joint and leaves the grout line low. All negative reviews I have read here are spot on. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT! BUYER BEWARE!

Our tile contractor used it (he had never heard of it before) and found it very difficult to apply and had many small holes appear after it dried and had to fill them. This was the first of two bathrooms we are remodeling with tile - he asked we do not use this product for the second one. We took care of the clean up and found (we used the recommended cleaner as instructed) it VERY HARD to clean up - it took us hours of scrubbing and scraping with a plastic putty knife. Our tile layer said regular grout simply wipes off with cheese cloth. We certainly don't recommend this product!
