The specs say this is sanded grout...Does it etch or scratch clear glass tiles?

I have been told to avoid sanded grout products, but this looks so convenient !
Asked by: sherrie
I don't think this will scratch the tiles.

Can this be used to adhere the tile to the floor?

I've never done tiling before, I thought i would use a glue of sorts, but this was suggested for a small job because I can use it as my grout as well as my way of adhering the tile to the floor. I'm repairing about 15 tiles that popped up.

This product was not easy to spread and was very difficult to work with compared to previous grout (poly-blend) that I have used. I added water to the pail to make it a little thinner. It seemed like the product was dry when I opened it even though I bought and used it in the same week. Overall it's a nice concept for a small job, but the extra effort in trying to get it into all the grout lines and then needing to re-do it because of cracking after setting up was just a real pain. I'll mix my own next time and discard the material I don't need.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never using pre-mix grout again. Color was exact to displayed. After grouting my newly installed tile for the third time. The grout never dried properly. Would constantly crack and flake off with just a simple sweep of a broom. I've never had this issue before with grouting. After speaking with two other local contractor's they both said it was the grout I was using. Spend two full days removing. Used standard sanded grout. Dried perfectly and evenly. Will never use this product again. Would not recommend

We had a tile shower being installed and our installer highly recommended this product. When he went to use one of the tubs, it was too runny. Even the employees at Home Depot agreed that it was not right but we were able to exchange it and the new batch was good!

If not cleaned sufficiently, when dry this may leave a hazy residue on natural stone, but dried grout will easily clean off the surface of porcelain tile. General purpose grout sponges will not clean this up very well. I found that out the hard way - after trying several grout clean-up products to remove the haze from a marble installation with little or no effect, I ended up using a 4" paint scraper (with a new blade) to very carefully scrape the haze off - this worked! As for the final results, I am more than pleased - I will use this product again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cure time! I agree with other reviews about cure time. I installed a tile shower pan and the grout is eroding after a couple months. Tech support informed me to wait 7 days on a shower pan which i did not. CBP would not send replacement grout. I will use this product again. It seems they have changed their tune on how long to let it dry. The tub says wait three days before exposing to water which i most likely adhered to as a I am a stickler for the directions. You need to put on the directions to wait seven days and should have sent me replacement tub of grout. I do like the grout and will use again but am not impressed with service after the sale.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It seemed too dry in package. when trying to apply it would not go into the grout lines nicely, and as soon as it touched the face of the tile it would dry out and not allow you to work it anymore. instructions were really vague. it just pilled off the tile instead of going into the grout lines. ended up adding some water to make it workable have zero plans on working with it again unless i wqtch a video for some pointers first. seemed as time went on the tub got more wet. if thats the case put that kind of information on the dang tub. less than impressed. not fun to work with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1st time had a bad batch 2nd time was Great! I put a poor review on the site when I first purchased the product it had a horrible consistency and you could not apply the mix at all. I decided to call their customer service (fusion's) to discuss the product. The guy said I most likely got a bad batch, take it back and try again. I did, 100% different. The product went on nicely and was easy to use. So for those of you who are hesitant to purchaing the product. It actually turned out well. I purchased bright white, it was white (so reviews stated it was "yellow")

Coal Oxidized Metal Peel and Stick Vinyl Tile. Verdict: Looks wonderful. Worth the 20 bucks and would use again. Pros: Easy to spread. Once dried, looks like it will take a jack hammer to pry loose. The charcoal color is exactly as it should be, super dark; almost black. Cons: During application it seems that the moisture from the grout causes the adhesive loosen, even when waiting days between laying then grouting. Also, cleanup is strange. When wiping with a damp sponge, there was a strange milky light blue haze. Don't let a bit of that dry, as it is very hard to remove. I found better success with just lightly sponging off the majority and letting the remainder dry and then using a scraper to remove the excess. Not sure how that might work on other materials, but I had fairly good success with the vinyl. I love the end result.
