I recently laid marble mosaic hexagon tile, however the grout dried patchy and looks awful in some spots. I would like to use this on the grout to fix the color and would also like to seal the marble tiles. I am wondering if I should seal the entire floor first then color the grout or color grout then seal the entire floor.

Answer:
Polyblend Grout Renew Colorant may be used to re-color the grout joints in a natural stone installation. It is recommended to pre-seal the natural stone with the TileLab SurfaceGard Penetrating Sealer to prevent any possible staining from the Polyblend Grout Renew Colorant. For further assistance please contact our Care and Maintenance division at 800.272.8786 option 3

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product This Grout Renew Colorant product is wonderful. After the prep work is done for this process, the results are amazing. The grout colorant is a little time consuming to put on but the results look so nice. Looks like when you first had the tile installed. July 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product but dries fast!! Keep your area small Product did a great job of covering old grout and replacing areas that had "washed away". But don't make the mistake I did and try to cover too large of an area at once, at least not if you are a DIYer. It dried faster than I expected and I made a lot of additional work for myself. Keep it small!! April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LOVE THIS STUFF!! I absolutely LOVE this stuff. My tile is OLD...20 years old. The original grout color was platinum grey, but is now almost black. I've gone on hands and knees to scrub the grout only to have the dirty, black color reappear within a week or two. I want to replace my tile, however I'm not looking forward to moving furniture from each room, or the mess, or the cost! Yes this project was time consuming, but well worth the time and effort. I used an old tooth brush to apply in small sections then waited 20 minutes to allow it to dry. I then used a damp rag and my finger nail to wipe away any excess. This new look will buy me some time and allow me to concentrate on other projects. I'm sooooo happy with the results! June 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks Like a New Floor Bought this to test out in our master bath since it is the only separate room with tile. Our house is 11 years old and the tile throughout the house has a dated look. To me the dark grout with offwhite tiles created a checkerboard effect. After using Grout Renew, it looked like a different floor. I used Antique White and it took a little longer than I anticipated because I tried various methods to apply. Ended up using a nozzle cap on Grout Renew bottle and putting little drops about 1 1/2 inch apart and spreading it with a soft toothbrush that I had cut off half the bristles lengthwise. This minimized the spreading onto sides of the tile. It took less than 1/5 of the bottle to do about 65 sq ft. I will see how it holds up over the next few months and if still looks good, will tackle the rest of the house. The tile in the rest of the house is all adjoining, so once started, there is no going back. Lesson Learned: I have had both knees replaced so will use a good pair of knee pads next time. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brightened the old grout to look like new We replaced some of the grout and it was a different color so we used the product on the old grout to make it match the replaced grout. It all now looks bright and like new. July 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked even better than expected! When we laid our tile, we wanted a darker than the tile grout. We chose the Delorean gray grout. It looked dark when it was wet, but after it dried, I was disappointed to find it was almost the same color as the tile. So, I bought the Dove Gray. It was just the right color! I just applied with a toothbrush and a few old rags to wipe the excess off the tiles. The pictures show the grout before and after the grout colorant added. It didn't take long at all. It's been holding strong for 2 years now. The floor gets scrubbed every 2 weeks and I haven't noticed any fading in the grout color. This product is awesome :) I would definitely but it again if needed. April 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I highly recommend this product if you want to change the color of your grout This grout colorant worked as promised. The application was very easy - you just paint it on the grout as directed on the bottle. It went on smoothly and had great coverage. It matched the tile perfectly. It has been 3 months since the application and it still looks good as new. May 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by made all the difference in my new tile My contractor is used an oyster gray grout and as it dried it was way too light; so I went back to the store and purchased the natural gray grout colorant and Completely solved my problem and blended with my tile (metro charocal from ms intermational at home depot) spread very easily with a toothbrush at first I was using a fine paintbrush and that works too but spreads much faster using a toothbrush. It does seem to dry quickly so I would suggest doing a line at a time and wiping exccess as you go. April 10, 2016
