Because over time (maybe a couple years) you will need to touch up, and if you're really picky like me, maybe even go over it again lightly. Keep in mind, that all grout needs maintenance, colored or natural. Read Less

Can you use this product (Polyblend Grout Renew -Earth #105) on the Grout and Tile???

As I am doing the Grout line I am also getting some on the tile surface. It seems to be making the tile darker as well even when I wipe off with a damp cloth.
I am very disappointed that I have to do this process after using colored Grout to begin with. I used (Polyblend Grout-Sanded - Haystack #380). After curing for 2 days the Grout line has turned almost a white color. Now I will have to spend another day (at least) staining the Grout line with this product and also wiping the tiles off repeatedly because of the color change that is taking place on the tile itself. Booooooooo!!!!

Answer:
Polyblend Grout Renew Colorant is primarily used for re-coloring and sealing grout in a tile installation. If you are experiencing efflorescence and depending on the type of tile installed, it may be advised to pre-treat the joints with the TileLab Sulfamic Acid Cleaner. For further assistance please contact our Care and Maintenance division at 800.272.8786 option 3

Since the Mapei Flexcolor CQ is an acrylic grout with sealers will this product work? Will the colorant be able to get into the grout or will it just sit on top?

I have a ceramic tile kitchen countertop with stained or discolored grout. I am sure this will help the problem but I am unsure how well it will hold up to regular cleaning. Ha anyone tried this or have any suggestions?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LOVE THIS STUFF!! I absolutely LOVE this stuff. My tile is OLD...20 years old. The original grout color was platinum grey, but is now almost black. I've gone on hands and knees to scrub the grout only to have the dirty, black color reappear within a week or two. I want to replace my tile, however I'm not looking forward to moving furniture from each room, or the mess, or the cost! Yes this project was time consuming, but well worth the time and effort. I used an old tooth brush to apply in small sections then waited 20 minutes to allow it to dry. I then used a damp rag and my finger nail to wipe away any excess. This new look will buy me some time and allow me to concentrate on other projects. I'm sooooo happy with the results! June 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by From Drab to Fab! II couldn't be more pleased with the dramatic transformation of my kitchen and flooring. My house looks bigger, brighter and modern. I plan on listing my house in the fall and I feel more confident because of Polyblend Grout Renew Colorant. March 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Freshens up bathroom grout I'm really happy with how well this turned out. I thought there was nothing that could be done for the stained, black grout in the bathroom of my 50 year old house, but this made the tile look fresh and clean. I originally bought "antique white" to match the cream-colored tile but it dried gray and made the grout look dingy and unclean. I exchanged it for "bright white" and that made all the difference. I never did find a perfect application tool; I tried a toothbrush, a paintbrush from a craft store and an angled makeup brush. The toothbrush applied the paint the best, but I couldn't avoid getting paint on the tile as well as the grout lines. I had to go back and scrape off the excess paint once it dried (wiping it up as I went also wiped up the paint on the grout). However, if you have the patience, it's well worth it. August 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor quality...color doesn't match The color of this product is not as displayed. Every product I purchased from this brand is not nearly as labeled. Pewter should be a deeper gray and when applied is almost white. I will be complaining to both homedepot and the manufacturer. August 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works like a champ! My white tile grout was looking dingy, and I decided it needed an overhaul to give it a more modern, scandinavian look. I went from white to black! I think it turned out great! I will say that this was a very tedious job, I found that it dried super quick, although I would paint a short line. It was hard to scrub off if it dried on the tile before you could get it wiped off. I had to start using a LIGHTLY damp paper towel to help get it off. Let's see how it lasts! January 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent results We were contemplating a complete floor renovation in the entryway because the grout was stained and uneven but the tiles were still in great shape. We decided to try to this product first as it is very inexpensive and if it didn't turn out we would just go back to the first plan of a complete floor renovation... SO happy we tried it. This completely changed the look of the entryway! We are so pleased with the results. We used a small craft brush and bright white to match the baseboards. This is tedious work and did take two coats but for the price and the ease of application it was completely worth it! September 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No more dirty grouts This is a great product. I did everything to make my grouts looks better. I used scrubbing brush with bleach and other cleaners. It was very time consuming and I hated to expose myself o these cleaners. I am glad that I found this product. I simple used my thin painter brush which I purchased for painting class in the past. I applied this product over the old grout. My grouts are like brand new and even my tiles look newer. I do not recommended this product in the bathrooms, shower areas where there are constant exposure to water, showering etc. Pressure of water in these areas makes grout come off. April 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best DIY project! We bought a house that has white bathroom tiles with white grout that was dirty, discolored and never sealed. This product is a life saver! It looks amazing and was so easy to use. I used a small craft brush to paint it on instead of pouring, then let it dry a couple of minutes and then scraped the excess of our tiles (simple white tiles with no pores or texture to it, if the tile was different I would have wiped as it was wet). Let it sit for the full 72 hrs recommended (without water touching it) and it's all set to go! July 2, 2015
