I recently tiled my entire basement, and the pros that did it somehow messed up the grouting process. The grout it dark (mottled?) in some areas, light in others, and the correct color in about 70 percent of the 500 SqFt area. It's been about a week, can I use colorant of the same color to fix the mistakes? Will the colors match?

A friend used a similar product and used the applicator bottle. She said it applied a fine line, easy to brush, and easier to stay within the grout line. What do you think?

Answer:
You can use any type of applicator bottle that works best for you. I would recommend using a tooth brush or other soft bristle brush once it's applied to the joint to ensure that it's applied evenly and that you get complete coverage over the textured grout joint. If you use a tooth brush you can cut down the outer bristles to make it more narrow to fit your joints. For further information please Read More

Answer:
Though the Polyblend Grout Renew Colorant would most likely bond to the edge of the tile, it can only be warranted when installed over grout. For further assistance please contact our Care and Maintenance division at 800.272.8786 option 3

What a great idea! In my opinion, yes it would work and will probably make the fireplace look very fresh, yeah! I'd try it in a small area first and be sure to try at least 2 different colors because it can look different depending on lighting, et

Answer:
I think it will - if it's got a sandy/grainy texture and not sealed. Clean well with vinegar-hydrogen peroxide & brush, rinse & let dry. Then try on an inconspicuous area. Both grout & mortar and cementy type products. Good luck - I'm sure it will work well. Just take care to wet wipe any excess that gets on the brick immediately.

Polyblend #45 Summer Wheat 8 fl. oz. Grout Renew Colorant is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 431.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect match I had my bathroom renovated and installed floor tile that looked like wood. After the contractor finished the grout, it looked good until it dried much lighter than I had anticipated. This grout sealant/colorant was a perfect match to my tiles and now I am 100% happy with my new bathroom!

I'm using a small paintbrush instead of a toothbrush like the directions say to. time will tell if it holds up but I've read reviews all over blogs that say it does.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Freshens up bathroom grout I'm really happy with how well this turned out. I thought there was nothing that could be done for the stained, black grout in the bathroom of my 50 year old house, but this made the tile look fresh and clean. I originally bought "antique white" to match the cream-colored tile but it dried gray and made the grout look dingy and unclean. I exchanged it for "bright white" and that made all the difference. I never did find a perfect application tool; I tried a toothbrush, a paintbrush from a craft store and an angled makeup brush. The toothbrush applied the paint the best, but I couldn't avoid getting paint on the tile as well as the grout lines. I had to go back and scrape off the excess paint once it dried (wiping it up as I went also wiped up the paint on the grout). However, if you have the patience, it's well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best grout option for small vintage tiles Polyblend worked with 1950's small vintage tiles. I used a small paint brush to fill the grooves and wiped the tiles with a rag using equal parts vinegar and water as I went along. I did a small area waited a minute or so and then wiped the excess product. Make sure you don't leave haze on your tiles or you might find that it's impossible to remove. rinse your rag regularly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Polyblend Antique White Grout Renew Colorant This is a time consuming process, but so worth the results! I now have brand new looking tile and couldn't be happier! It is fast drying, so don't pour a lot into your container or it will start to set up. I used a glass ramekin and washed it out when I was through. I did two bathrooms, long hallway, small laundry area and kitchen with one bottle. This is an answer to my prayers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good purchase, does the job!! I cleaned the floor grout and let it dry for a day; I shook the grout well a few times and put it upside down. The next day I trimmed the bristles of an old toothbrush making it thinner and used that to brush it on the grout. I did go to a local beauty store after the first day and bought an inexpensive squeeze dispenser with a small nozzle and put the grout renew in that, and I was able to better control how much was going directly on the grout. I also only did 2 sides of a tile at a time and cleaned up the edges as I went.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Product That Really Works! Amazing product - just had travertine mosaic backsplash and TV surround tiled. The tile from HD is stunning but the grout was too dark/reddish. I was so disappointed. I searched the internet to see if bleach, or some other product would lighten the color. Then I found a YouTube video for this GroutRenew. I tried the product with a toothbrush as directed, and at first I thought I had ruined the stone because I couldn't stay exactly in the lines. But after completing one row, I wiped with a cloth towel and I was amazed!! The ugly dark grout was perfectly lightened to a light beige/off white color that looks perfect. Tumbled marble is very easy to work with when applying this product. Hard to believe my ten thousand dollar tile install was saved by a $14 product!

I have a bathroom that had dingy grout and I was not ready to replace the existing grout and tile. I was hoping to find something fairly easy to give this tile and grout some new life until a future time when I am willing to renovate, this product hit the mark! I did do a thorough acid clean prior to applying the Renew so it had a good clean surface, I think this helped in the end result. I'll let the pictures speak tell the rest of the story
