Several people have commented that the Charcoal color is not dark enough. Some have suggested using Grout renew to stain the grout to a true dark charcoal. Is it possible to simply add the grout stain to the grout while you are mixing it? And avoid a two-step process?

Sometimes colors are not what they appear to be in grout. Once you put it on, you're pretty much stuck with it. Unless you want to dig it out. Is the Polyblend #60 charcoal non-sanded grout actually in the grey family or the black family in color.

Rated 2.8 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Grout Have used this product before. Easy to apply. Just wish it came in a deep black. May 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Grout Wasn't true to its color , but other than that loved it , I got charcoal, I know they said over watered it is why but I've grouted alone or two tile in my life lol , but no other complaints, good product May 4, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Dries to a different color I had the same issue as other reviewers - once the grout dries the color lightens to a medium grey, not a charcoal as is pictured on the box. It seems like this is an issue with just about all black grout due to the amount of cement required. HOWEVER I was able to salvage my project by using polyblend's grout renew colorant/sealant - it's good to seal your grout anyway and the charcoal grout renew does dry black! I used the grout renew to brighten up dingy tile in the past so when I was disappointed in the color of this grout I was excited to see that they do make the grout renew in charcoal! I highly suggest that anyone planning on putting in tile with black grout uses the grout renew - I just used a toothbrush to scrub it on and wiped off the excess. May 12, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Color wasnt even close I bought the Charcoal grout thinking it would be a nice color to completement my wood look tile I bought. I had a professional lay this grout a first time and the result was a light grey color with patches of white. I had the guy lay the grout again thinking that would fix the issue but again the grout was light grey. I tried cleaning with vinegar water as the manufacturer suggested which did nothing. I attempted to find a way to fix this issue online and found out that multiple people had this same issue with this grout. Take a look at the attached picture and see what Polyblend calls "charcoal". Will not be buying any Polyblend products again. If there was an option to give 0 out of 5 stars, I would have done it. May 16, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Charcoal #60 grout The grout was adequate for the job, but I had to buy WAY too much for a very small job. I had to mix it in batches, because it would dry too quickly. I wanted to get the pre-mixed variety so I could work on small patches at a time without having to mix another batch. October 7, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Color not as advertised! As other reviewers have reported, this grout is not the color that they say it is. It turns out to be a light colored gray. It's too bad that I didn't check the reviews before I bought it. Fortunately the color worked, otherwise it would have been a disaster. January 23, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Charcoal is not black dries gray We thought we had used the wrong grout! Disappointing that it is not black but gray. I am not interested in doing line by line coloring in the long run it won't stay so we will seal it gray. I have used non sanded grout numerous times hopefully it was just this batch but it is crumbling. Moving on with project!!! September 28, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Missing half the product When I got home and opened the carton of grout I was surprised to find that someone had already purchased the same carton used half the product and then returned it to the store. I should have known to check. I find open packages with parts missing all the time like the Moen shower valve I just got that had missing mounting hardware. Terrible. September 1, 2015
