Polyblend Ratio Water:Powder

I need to mix small portions of grout. What is the ratio of water to mix (i.e., 3 parts water to 1 part mix, etc.)? Thanks!

Using 382 bone grout-How do you mix it and what is the best way to apply it when using to fill-in between tub and tile which has separated?

Should I just take off the original and reapply where there is separation?
Asked by: Anonymous
Between floor and tub should be silicone caulk, which you can get sanded or unsanded in the Bone color. Tub and floor will shift from time to time causing grout to crack and crumble. Just use the caulk. I'll look just like grout and seal better. You can use regular white silicone, too - tends to look fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst grout I've ever used I have been doing tile work for 18 years and this has to be the worst product I've ever worked with. I used this brand of grout in 2 tub surrounds on a job last year. The fist shower I noticed right away that the material set up faster than I am used to and cleaned off my tools very easily. The next day the grout was dry and the color varied from joint to joint. Additionally there seam to be cracking right away. I followed the mixing instructions as stated on package and used distilled water in the mix. I knew right away I would be re-grouting the surround. I knew I needed to do something different with the second bath so I used sealer instead of water hoping to get a better product. The result was stronger grout but I still ended up with color variations. And a year later hair line cracks in the grout. You may be thinking that maybe this guy applied the product incorrectly. But I assure you that this is the first time I ever used polyblend band grout and this is also the first time I have ever had a costumer call me with concerns on a tile job. I will never use it again and will inform everyone I know to stay away from this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worse thing ever - Ruined my floor This grout is NOT dark brown. I put in a 400 sq ft floor using Gunstock (wood look alike) tiles. The display in the store said "Shown with Tobacco Brown Grout" It was beautiful so that is what I bought. When the grout was wet it looked great, but when it dried it was at least 3 shades lighter and looks like gray chalk lines. Does not even look brown at all. My $3000 floor looks horrible!!! I am now going to have to attempt to re-stain the grout a darker color. This will require painting all the grout lines with a tooth brush. It will probably take me months to complete. If you are looking for Brown grout - STAY AWAY FROM THIS COLOR!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mixes well and dries true to color This sanded grout is easy to mix and the color is just what I expected. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is that the bag is so big and heavy. I'm a mosaic artist, and I only need a half cup or so to grout a stepping-stone project. If I could buy a 10-pound bag, instead of 25 pounds, I'd be really happy. Note for those who work with mosaics: it's best to work in cool weather; overcast is ideal, but early morning works too. This grout dries at a slow enough pace that you can undo and redo small areas if needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible!!!! I am totally disappointed with the end result! The grout color my husband and I picked was oyster gray and what we got when the grout dried was white!!!! It's crazy. I called custom building care center and was told that this was efflorescences which is impossible since this occurs over time not over a few hours, then I was told to tint it. I have researched and it seems its a very common problem. Why put the color on the bag if it's going to dry way lighter then expect! Very poor product!!!! >:(

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install and good quality, but I had a problem with color matching I communicated with Custom Products via emails and they were very responsive and helpful. I liked the product, it mixed easily and went on well. I liked that they sell sample size packages for $5.00. I had a problem with color variances from batch to batch, even when the batches were from the same bag of grout. I tried to be consistent in the grout to water ratio and the mixing. I think this is due to some batches drying quicker than others thus being darker in color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Fusion Don't be fooled by Fusion hype! This grout costs 1/8 as much as Fusion! Each bag goes over twice as far, costing 1/4 of the price!. It is much easier to work with. far less chance of staining cabinets, trim, or the tile itself. With proper cleaning, DOES NOT need sealing! For added protection, Boost Grout enhancer can be used, or it can be sealed 5-7 days later. Super easy job, can seal 100s of feet per hour. Much less work than scrubbing Fusion off, with even more harsh chemicals. It dries MUCH faster, will no chemical off gassing. That means those with lung issues won't be irritated by the chemicals evaporating. Furniture and appliances can be put back in @ 2 hours vs 24-48 with Fusion. The cement grout is MUCH BETTER for the environment, doesn't require an MSDS Safety sheet. Clean up is safe and easy. The choice is not difficult.

If you are an inexperienced DIY'er I would definitely NOT recommend this grout. Once I finished with my grouting (I used Platinum) I let it dry and after 5 days there were light gray, dark gray and white areas. This was probably my mixing "skill" but either way, be aware of this. Your mix and application must be REALLY GOOD or else you'll get the same results as me. GLTA.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer BEWARE Thanks Home Depot for ruining my new house! this stuff is terrible. I am not a tile novice and followed the directions. It is so disappointing to have blotchy white grout instead of tan to match the tile. And no I should not have to remedy it which didn't work anyhow. This should be pulled off the shelves as soon as possible. Wish I had read reviews and checked out YouTube on this one.
