I recently tiled my entire basement, and the pros that did it somehow messed up the grouting process. The grout it dark (mottled?) in some areas, light in others, and the correct color in about 70 percent of the 500 SqFt area. It's been about a week, can I use colorant of the same color to fix the mistakes? Will the colors match?

A friend used a similar product and used the applicator bottle. She said it applied a fine line, easy to brush, and easier to stay within the grout line. What do you think?

Answer:
You can use any type of applicator bottle that works best for you. I would recommend using a tooth brush or other soft bristle brush once it's applied to the joint to ensure that it's applied evenly and that you get complete coverage over the textured grout joint. If you use a tooth brush you can cut down the outer bristles to make it more narrow to fit your joints. For further information please Read More

Can I use this to color the unfinished raw edge of my tile? We should have used a bullnose or edge piece but we didn't.

Answer:
Though the Polyblend Grout Renew Colorant would most likely bond to the edge of the tile, it can only be warranted when installed over grout. For further assistance please contact our Care and Maintenance division at 800.272.8786 option 3

Answer:
Polyblend Grout Renew Colorant may be used with natural stone. We recommend pre-sealing the stone with the TileLab SurfaceGard Penetrating Sealer to protect from staining. For further assistance please contact our Care and Maintenance division at 800.272.8786 option 3

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by After thought. Wanted grout darker than store had available. Easy to use. Wipe it on and wipe it off with wet sponge and it's done. Small areas, use a small paint brush. It is just like paint. Try it. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what we needed We purchased the incorrect color of grout for our wood look porcelain tile flooring. We wanted the flooring to look like wood floors and not tile. We purchased Polyblend Tobacco Brown grout and Marazzi Montagna Saddle Brown flooring. We HATED the color that the Tobacco Brown dried, our contractor recommended finding some grout colorant and we found this stuff. This grout colorant was PERFECT for us. I have attached a photo of our closet halfway through our application of the colorant. You can see the obvious difference in the close half and far half of the flooring. We had a around 900sqft of 6"x24" tile with a 1/8th" grout line and used a little under 2 bottles of the stuff. We ordered 5 bottles because the salesperson told us we would need that much, turns out we'll be returning 3 bottles of it. November 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Results! We installed a wood look porcelain tile floor. We used a lighter color grout and did not like the final look. The product application took approximately 2 hours and the final look is just what we wanted. August 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Grout renew colorant Easy to use. Refreshes my 28 yr. old grout to original color. May 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, made my floors look new again! I modified the bottle with a pointed tip top from craft store bottle, just switched the lids. That way you can squeeze a very small line on each grout line and not near as much clean up as painting on with brush which we tried first. Its so simple my 10 and 15 year old kiddo's helped. See picture for before and after. December 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great! Makes the floor look new. We had a new tile floor and used Sable Brown Polyblend grout. The tiles were brown and somehow the grout mixture didn't dry as dark as we hoped. This product solved the problem. It is very easy to apply with a thin hobby brush, it's a thick mixture so you only need 1 or 2 coats, applying both as you go along. Just make sure you wipe up with a damp cloth as you go along also. Dry's fast, the grout looks perfect January 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great solution to your grout problems!! My brand new wood look tile with sable brown grout was not covered after installation. Also, the original grout was not sealed. As such, the construction dust got imbedded in the grout and I ended up with cherry brown floor and grey grout!!! This was presented as a solution. It is time consuming to apply. I was lucky as my contractor did it since it was his fault. Looks great!! My floor is now perfect. I was told to let it "cure" for 10 days before washing the floor. So far it's all well. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this product!!! Great results! The previous homeowners added a new shower addition and used Polyblend grout for our shower in "Summer Wheat" to complement the new tile walls of our shower. Since they did not lay new floor tile, they treated the existing floor tile grout with Polyblend "Sandstone" Grout Renew to re-color the old grout. While this looked nice, I preferred to update the floor grout tile color with the same color as the new shower grout, since it was available online in the Grout Renew product in the same color hue "Summer Wheat". Am I glad I did!!! It really warmed up the floor and compliments the new shower tile addition to make the entire bathroom renovation look seamless and cohesive! This product is super easy to use, following the directions given, and I love the result. I attached a few photos mid-way through the process so you can see the difference of the "Sandstone" color (which was the previous homeowners choice and is a bit more gray) against the warmer color of "Summer Wheat"! I love my results and am thrilled with this product!!! October 12, 2016
