Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sirjames600 Saved a tile job gone bad.
I had never heard of this product, but learned about it in order to salvage a bad shower tile installation job that was stopped before it got worse. It goes on easily and creates a totally water proof barrier behind your tile. No more finding out two years from now that the installer screwed up and now you have major problems because of leaks in your shower.
The only thing I would add to their instructions is to ignore using a trowel. The stuff is too thin. Just use a big paint brush and slosh it on in the corners and over the mesh tape along the seams. Then use a roller to do the flat surfaces.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by reitzcustomcreations Should be a must for building codes
I specialize in bathroom remodels, and this product should be required anytime a shower is being built. I've been using it for over 6 years. it is easily applied and dries fairly quickly depending upon atmosphere conditions. I will not do a job without redgarding the entire shower. It works great for a crack suppressant also. do yourself a huge favor, bite the bullet and spend the money, its worth every penny to know you shower won't leak

The product was so easy to apply with a paint brush or roller. The best advice I can tell you is: make sure you have a clean room. Also, when applying make sure you have a smooth application as it does not flatten out like paint will.

I used this product for one of my current projects. Straight forward and easy to understand instructions. Follow the instructions and you should do well. I used it on the bathroom floor in addition to the shower floors and walls in two bathrooms. I believe using this product (something you won't see) was well worth the investment to protect the greater investment in what you do see.

It is really helpful that it goes on pink but when it turns red, it's dry. It covers easily and does the job. Not cheap, but worth the price.

This product is ideal to spread over a clean concrete floor with stress cracks prior to laying ceremic tile. Have used it under two large tile flooring jobs. Works great.

Be sure to read the instructions and watch the youtube videos for this will save you time and aggravation. We used it on the floors, shower floor (used oatey pan liner and mudbase), curb and walls of our new bathroom. We found it relatively easy to install with a brush for the corners (which goes on too thin) and with a thick nap roller (which you must use to get on a thick enough coat) for the rest. We used an expensive roller which meant the roller itself and the tool had to be tossed afterwards so I would suggest using a cheap tool because its not possible to save it. We put on three coats and four in some caulked cracks (between the durock). In addition to the bathroom, the off label way we used it was to paint on the inside of a gutter that had been fixed twice and sprayed with 2 different gutter rubber leak prevent spray cans which never held. Redgard did the job. Its been through many downpours since we installed it and we now have a gutter that finally does not leak. If you end up with left over redgard the manufacture suggest placing cling wrap (plastic wrap) inside the can over the top of the paint and running it up the sides slightly. This way, little to no air can dry it up so you can use it for another project.
