I purchased this premixed mortar for a tile job on a small bathroom floor (4'x5' = 20sf) because I had used a 25lb bag of mix-it-yourself mortar to put down the backer board and had a ridiculous amount left over. I was already annoyed when I had to pay twice as much for less than half the quantity but I wrote it off as a convenience fee. Things went downhill from there.
The mortar seemed too thick and I was having trouble spreading it. It also kept pulling when I tried to trowel the lines in it requiring a lot more work than I expected. Lastly and most importantly, I ran out before I finished my job. I'll admit that I am new to tiling but using a 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/4 trowel I was supposed to get 40-50sf and I ran out around 18. Now I'm stuck needing to either buy another tub of this garbage or spend half as much on some traditional mortar and throw away almost all of it to lay down 3 more pieces or tile.
Save yourself a huge headache and a waste of time and just mix some traditional mortar yourself. The money you save over this will pay for a bucket and a mixer attachment for a drill.

A little moist and tile didn't stick at first but it held and we didn't have to mix anything.

I used this product for it's convenience on a stack stone application for a backsplash. I was doing about 20sq. ft. and the bucket ran out before I could finish. I did go a little heavier than normal because I wanted to try to fill a few of the gaps in the stone. The first bucket spread really well. I bought a second bucket that was much drier and harder than the first. It was much harder to apply and I probably used more because of this. It's a convenient product and holds well if you need to lid it for later use. I'd use it again but would be cautious of the consistency.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KGirl great product, easy to use.
I love having the mortar premixed. Easy to use! I also used Home Depot's paint, leveler, and other products to complete this project.

Thin set without the mixing mess. Great for small jobs but if you are doing a floor- buy a bag or two of unmixed thin set. Cost would be way too much and it is worth the money to just mix it yourself

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Joe Easy for small jobs
If it's for a small job works well. Used it for a 6sqft area with backer board and need 2 buckets to have enough to use. Holds good but seems to take a little longer to dry when used on top of red guard waterproofer.

It is what it is... Premixed mortar in a bucket. Good for small jobs or in my case prep and touch up work during bathroom renovation. Honestly I used it because I was too lazy to go outside with the drill and mix thinset. It's expensive compared to bagged dry thinset, but it did save time.
