Answer:
I used this to even out ceramic tiled steps prior to installing hardwood flooring on them. One tile was broken out and I was able to fill in missing piece ( 3/8 inch) and then to even out the badly uneven tile job. There wasn't any problem with adhesion. I did let it set overnight.

This box will cover 300 sf, so a different backer board patch in a smaller qty. might be your first choice. As for using Speedfinish for this purpose, the box states: "...a fast curing cement based patching and skim coating compound that provides a smooth finish...eliminates installation problems of bond failure, crumbling, mildew and staining..." Hope this helps you decide.

I am looking to create a concrete look picnic table out of a wood picnic table kit. I would like to know if I can lay this on top of the wood, then finish it somehow (maybe seal, then wax??) but basically leave it with a concrete look. Will it hold up in the weather? Also, can I use silicone or some other caulking to fill the gaps between the boards, or should I just do something simple like tape? If not this, then do you have another product that would be appropriate?

SpeedFinish is designed for indoor and out door use- so I say, hey, give it a try! Since SpeedFinish is design to be a patch UNDER a floor covering, I would suggest a protective covering like enamel or urethane.

Answer:
the instructions indicate "Surfaces must be clean and free of contaminates before applying.." In your case, SPEEDFINISH's bond to the surface is only as strong as the paint's bond to the concrete. Would recommend applying paint remover and use a scraping pole to expose as much of the concrete as possible before applying SPEEDFINISH. Happy DIY'ing!

Answer:
Concrete must be fully cured and must accept water penetration and should have a broomed or brushed finish to enhance the bond. Smooth concrete slabs must be mechanically abraded to ensure a good bond.. For further assistance please contact our installation division at 800.272.8786 option 2

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 17 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SMOOTH & EASY APPLICATION, STAYS STUCK Used to fill large voids in wood floor after patching openings with particle board. Tried Durams Wood Puddy, but it was way too expensive per ounce after the water was added- the large 4-Lb container reduces to less that 1/3 of the volume of the can when water is applied. SPEEDFINISH had much less volume reduction when mixed. Begins to set in about 8 min., becomes walkable in about 15. Recommend using a drill mixing attachment to ensure consistency. February 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product When I pulled up the old ceramic floor some of the wood came with it. I needed a solution to level the floor and this product fit the bill. It cured in just about 30 minutes or so easily solving a problem. One thing though, you have to be fast in the application because it starts to cure in just a few minutes. Awesome product! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does what is made to do I called Custom Building Products and was told this was what I needed for leveling my floor in certain places. It worked great and went on easy. It's important to mix as instructed. The only problem I had was finding a bag that was not out of date. Several bags on the shelf did not even have a date code on them. March 30, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product Easy to mix and spread. Quick to dry. Great product. September 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow I had previously bought another product that took 12 to 14 hours to cure. This stuff is ready in 15 min. Just like it says. Great for just leveling small areas with a small amount of height to level out. Work quickly because this stuff is no joke! The remainder of the product in a homer bucket was hot. Even warped the bucket a little. After 25 minutes I couldn't even get any out of the bucket! I wouldn't use this on big areas. But, it worked perfectly for what I needed to do. March 1, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product as you need not rush Mix it just like they say on the box. And use a sealer as its a bit brittle and may form cracks if walked on when used in a humid or a bathroom subfloor. Or just keep people from walking on it until Sealed and tile is down. December 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to put down but believe the mix only what you can use in 10 minutes I bought this product to level a couple of small dips in my basement before prior to installing heating pad and tile in the bathroom. It mixed fairly easy and went on smooth. Don't need to work it too much at first application. You can wet the trowel and skim back over after 5 minutes or so to remove any ridges left by the trowel. Overall worked much better than the last patching/skimming product I used prior to installing vinyl planks on the rest of the basement floor. Wish I had found this prior to doing the vinyl.
