Answer:
yes you can use it. if you know how to properly care for your molds. Ive worked for 30 years in the custom building design industry. what people forget is its the ones who know the history of the materials we use that set the standards others copy
just remember heat will buiid its a chemical reaction, better yet go study upon concrete history past (roman) and present( commercial construction)

Answer:
Your finished product will be crumbly. It is mortar not concrete, yes it contains cement but it's designed to be sandwiched between the tile and the substrate. I think there is a quick setting concrete product, I would use that.

I could see it being easy to pour, I would allow overnight set up despite it's rapid set rating. However, I have doubts about it's durability if left raw and exposed to the elements. Not sure about pci.

Answer:
No it shouldn't as it should be cleaned from the grout line as you go. But it will show through clear or glass tiles as grey - so make sure you use the white product under clear or glass tiles.

Answer:
Not if you clean out the grout joints. If they are not cleaned well the grey color could possibly bleed through.

Hi there, thank you for contacting us. Color does not affect grout as long as mortar residue is removed from grout joints and cleaned off surface of tile. If you have further questions please contact our technical department at 800-272-8786.

It won't if your grout joints are clean and layer of grout is uniformly thick. The best method is to scrape or tool mortar away from edges of tile as you lay them. You can also squeeze the edge of a damp sponge into grout joint and remove wet mortar as you go. Even then you'll need to carefully inspect and remove any mortar that remains that would show through grout. It's best to inspect as soon as dry Read More

Answer:
It is a Thinset-Thinset substitute. There is a sand consistency when mixed but the sanded/unsanded issue would apply when you grout the joints after the thiset sets up and the tile/stone is secure. In most situations you would want some ability to buildup the thiset to balance out sub-floor or underlayment issues.

Answer:
It's 3 parts powder to 1 part water by weight.
The whole bag directions are to mix 4 quarts, or 3.79 liters of water, to 25 pounds or 11.34 kilograms of product.
A liter of water is defined as weighing 1 kilogram, so it's easier to figure out this out in the metric system. 11.34 / 3.79 = 2.99., or 3:1 by weight.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by have to get your toilet back in today? speed set is the answer I hear you're interested in tiling your bathroom floor? But I thought you only had one bath. thats a two day job with dry time. What if there is a bathroom emergency? outside? laundry tub? bucket? No, No. Just use custom brand speed set and you can grout the same day and reinstall you toilet in no time. I don't know if custom has hired scientists or magicians but they know how to accelerate drying time like no other. Within hours of setting my bathroom floor I was able to mix and spread my fine flashed walnut grout and take care of business. Flash forward a couple hours and my grout was dry enough to reset my toilet. The look on my beautiful wifes face was priceless as she used the toilet just a mere 10 hours after I had first taken it out. Worth the extra money right there. Thank you speed set! July 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thinset It works as claimed, it set up fine. Follow the directions. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really Speedy! Only needed enough for a 2 sf area tile repair so had difficulty getting good consistency for install. A week later HD had a re-mixed product that I would have preferred to use - oh well! June 21, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Words of Caution Very inconsistent. I needed to grout my laundry room soon after installing tile, so I mixed up 1/3 of the bag. It set up in about 20 minutes which is faster than advertised, but serviceable I thought. Then I mixed up the remaining 2/3 and it went off before I could carry the bucket into the house. I think I got 1 tile down and I was fully prepped and ready. Later I mixed up another 1/3 bag batch that went for over 30 minutes when I used it all. So very inconsistent pot life. Consider yourself warned. Not for beginners. May 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SPEEDSET 25 LB. FORTIFIED THIN SET MORTAR DID THE JOB I EXPECTED IT WOULD DO WAS EASY TO WORK WITH AND SET UP LIKE THE INSTRUCTIONS SAID IT WOULD. April 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ready in an hour!! We needed to make a fix at our rental property and didn't want to wait 24 hours until we could finish. The Speedset was great and was ready for us to complete our work in an hour! March 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good product Consistent product. We use it all the time. Very consistent application. March 29, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Speedset Dry time is very poor when covering slabs in states with high humidity regardless of temperature inside structure However, after hardening/drying the product does presume to be a fair filling surface. I would like to see this product have the same consistency and level more appropriately as a self leveling product. Then I would be willing to wait a longer period of time for the product to dry after application. I'm also concerned with the chalky residue land difficulty leveling, scraping, etc. leftover after mixing and applying the product as instruction on package recommendations and specifications. Overall, Speedset is a quick product to grab off the shelf to utilize for a short term project that eventually will require demo. Price vs. Product also concerns me. I feel it is over priced compared to its quality. Thank you for allowing me to give my opinion on this product. M. Pratt, COO- Selah Design/St. Pete, FL March 9, 2016
