Answer:
yes you can use it. if you know how to properly care for your molds. Ive worked for 30 years in the custom building design industry. what people forget is its the ones who know the history of the materials we use that set the standards others copy
just remember heat will buiid its a chemical reaction, better yet go study upon concrete history past (roman) and present( commercial construction)

Answer:
Your finished product will be crumbly. It is mortar not concrete, yes it contains cement but it's designed to be sandwiched between the tile and the substrate. I think there is a quick setting concrete product, I would use that.

I could see it being easy to pour, I would allow overnight set up despite it's rapid set rating. However, I have doubts about it's durability if left raw and exposed to the elements. Not sure about pci.

Answer:
No it shouldn't as it should be cleaned from the grout line as you go. But it will show through clear or glass tiles as grey - so make sure you use the white product under clear or glass tiles.

Not if you clean out the grout joints. If they are not cleaned well the grey color could possibly bleed through.

Hi there, thank you for contacting us. Color does not affect grout as long as mortar residue is removed from grout joints and cleaned off surface of tile. If you have further questions please contact our technical department at 800-272-8786.

It won't if your grout joints are clean and layer of grout is uniformly thick. The best method is to scrape or tool mortar away from edges of tile as you lay them. You can also squeeze the edge of a damp sponge into grout joint and remove wet mortar as you go. Even then you'll need to carefully inspect and remove any mortar that remains that would show through grout. It's best to inspect as soon as dry Read More

If your not very experienced in setting tile, I would not use a speedset (or fast drying) mortar. I would recommend a standard setting time fortified mortar.

Answer:
Depending on how you like your mix, I usually mix half a bag with appx 16 oz of water and then adjust accordingly. You don't want it too stiff since it sets so quickly.

Answer:
It's 3 parts powder to 1 part water by weight.
The whole bag directions are to mix 4 quarts, or 3.79 liters of water, to 25 pounds or 11.34 kilograms of product.
A liter of water is defined as weighing 1 kilogram, so it's easier to figure out this out in the metric system. 11.34 / 3.79 = 2.99., or 3:1 by weight.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 71 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SpeedSet is great for small jobs and repairs, also for larger jobs done in sections. It is easy to mix and spread, but you must know exactly what you're doing in order not to lose any mortar. I usually mix half a bag at a time, knowing that I have a limited working time with the mixture. Great when you're on a tight schedule and need to get in and out in a few hours. Does exactly what I need, every time ! October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Used properly and for it's intended use; this is a good product October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by so glad the contractors recommended this because I would have to walk on the area that was tiled. this also made it where the contractors were able to finish in 1 day instead of 2 days because it dried even faster than the 1 hour. I loved it!! October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product This is the only mortar we use. Our tile installer had never used this kind before and he said he would never use another after installing our floors. October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product Good product , easy to mix and apply. Fast set. Met my needs perfectly. October 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Sets up to fast I sets up to fast. It would be good for a small job but not the larger job I was doing August 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Worked like it was supposed to. Product worked the wayexpected to and made the project easier. The tile did not fall when we installed it. August 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sets before out of the bucket Following the mixing directions to the letter doesn't work bc this product hardens before you can get 2 tiles set. We eventually played with the formula to get a couple of tiles up, but wasted 2 bags in the process. For repairs just use traditional setting mortar and deal with not using area for the time required. Never buying this again. August 16, 2016
