Answer:
Glazed tile has minimal/no porosity and therefor doesn't require sealing. Although, the grout does require sealing with a quality grout sealer.

Answer:
From my understanding and interactions with few of the handyman, this is needed for the natural (porous tiles) and the grout between porous or glazed Ceramic tiles. You don't need to use it on the ceramic tiles, just use it in the grout between these ceramic tiles (if any). Hope this helps.

Answer:
Porcelain tiles don't need to be sealed, grout does. SurfaceGard can be used for sealing the grout on a porcelain tile installation, wipe off sealer residue from tiles. Sealing the grout will make cleaning and maintenance much easier.

Answer:
this sealer works great on porous stone, I would test first on a test tile, to make sure that you like the way it looks when dry. it will add a nice layer of protection over your tiles, it does penetrate and provides a beautiful seal against stains and such.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This stuff is horrible, don't use it We followed the instructions. We put this on with a brush and wiped up the excess. As it dried it turned our dark brown grout white. I contacted the manufacture Custom Building Products and they said to scrub the grout with baking soda and water and it would remove the residue and not hurt the sealer. REALLY! They expect me to scrub the grout lines on 1900 square feet of tile???? July 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ruined my dark brown grout! I have a dark brown grout. This sealer turned the grout grayish white. The grout is ruined and looks bad. Unfortunately for me I did over 500 sq feet before I notice the problem. For the other rooms I used a spray sealer and the grout stayed dark brown. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT ON DARK GROUT! You have been warned. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Expensive, but worth it. This Tilelab grout sealer works really well, but it is an expensive product. Moving into a new house, our builder recommended sealing all of the grout in the house before we had any heavy traffic around the house. That way if something is spilled on the grout, it can be easily wiped up and not stain the grout forever (believe me, with a small child running around, I know all about stained grout!). So far, so good, a month into using the product and all seems to be well. We haven't had any major spillages (thankfully) to test it out, but it was easy to apply and dries quickly, and to a clear finish. I did purchase a roller applicator to apply this, just to make it easier on clean up, to accurately get each grout line, and to also maximize the area that the product would cover, by not wasting it on tiles etc. The roller applicator is very precise. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by works as advrtised This is not a spray and go item. It calls for spray and then wipe down after 5 mins. I used the spray setting at first, really got all over, then switched to stream setting and got it into grout only and was much better. Wiped off some then just left the rest to soak over night cant tell difference from wipe down or soak. Took bottle and half to do grout on 250 sq ft job, I think most was wasted in spray position. So went back net day and bought 1/2 gallon refill jug. Wife wants tile back splash so will use there also. July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product seals grout and stands up to abuse first, IF people would read and FOLLOW the directions this product is beyond easy to use. it does say to TEST in inconspicuous area for color fast.. I have used this on various colors of grout, from earth, cinnamon, blue, grey and a few other without any complications or color changes, applied to grout likes with a paint brush, let set.. usually dont wipe as I didnt' get it all over.. apply second coat and its good to go... large areas yes you'd need to wipe the haze... I've used this IN THE SHOWER a few YEARS ago and have preferred it for grout sealing since then. I've used it in the laundry room, kitchen, floors, back splash.. all of it holds up beautifully with not constant resealing.. yes it is more pricey than some of the others... but then the others dont penetrate to actually seal they just sit on top of the surface... after all the hard work of tile and grout.. I prefer a quality sealer that stands the test of kids, dogs, dirt, water, etc... June 30, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Expensive I can't tell a difference with this stuff. It is expensive. But I don't really want to find out what happens if I don't apply it After all the hard work I put into my floor. January 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by just what I needed I was looking for a sealer that I could use on my granite vanity top, tile and grout. Also I had to make sure that the sealer would not change the color of either one of those items I mentioned. This sealer works like magic, once applied the grout/granite turns darker color, but once it dries/seals it goes back to its natural color. Sealed vanity top and 48 hours later it was ready to use, no more water stains for it. Really great product. A bit pricey, but it depends how much you will need, there's a spar bottle in HD that was only $13 i think that could have covered my entire bathroom, I bought the big container just for the future since we are also tiling kitchen and hall way. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great investment in protection This was very easy to apply and gave a protective, non edgy feel after applying. Great to do this. December 10, 2014
