I second HDTVGuy's review. This is a poor product for any but the smallest repairs. The amount of water required to get a workable consistency is about twice the recommended (you need 7-8 oz per 1.5 lb), the workability is poor, and the adhesion level to Durock was spotty. It may hold well and allow aligning small wall tiles, but for my 8x13 tile I could't budge it even a 1/16 inch to align it better or adjust the height. You are far better off looking around for a 25 lb bag of modified thinset mortar and making 5-10 lb batches and throw away the excess. That would be for about the same cost with much better predictability and workability. I think the two issues with this product are the short worktime and the difficulty of tempering/mixing by hand with more than a few ounces of the mortar mix – no one has a drill bit mixer good for such small batches.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hdtvguy Dries too fast and instructions can;t be right
Had 2 cracked tiles to replaced, did all the prep works and then needed to decide what to do for adhesive. Regular mortar comes in huge bags and some of the ready to mix stuff people say takes day and days to set. I had 13x13 tiles to do so read some interesting reviews on this product. First the container says 2-3 sq.ft and it says to use 4oz of water for 1.5lb (entire container). First the water is not enough to really get this to any workable consistency to work with. I wound up having to almost double it. Even then is starts getting chalky and unworkable fast. Then to say this would cover 2-3 sq feet is a joke, unless you mortar is maybe applied with 1/8 inch trowel. With 1/4 trowel I could barley do a single tile and have enough to back butter the tile and still had issues getting tile to proper height.
I would up using one of these for each 13x13 tile and the second one I doubled the water and it was at least workable for 15 minutes, but was still barely was enough for a single tile! The real test now is if it sets up well and hold, I have my doubts since it was getting so unworkable so fast.
Next time I will just buy a regular bag of thinset and discard the remainder.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nikkie overall it's a good value
It gets dry very fast. Overall it's good value, easy to put on. The only thing I don't like about it is that after it's dry, when it contact with the water again, it change its white color to the darker one. Later it'll still turn back to white again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PoolRepairAmateur Great repair mortar
This mortar was easy to use. I used it to repair pool tiles and it was great for this purpose. I only wish the instructions told you how much water to use when you are only using a small amount of the product not the whole container. It was alright though, some pool water on my putty knife made the mortar very easy to work with. It looks just like the mortar that was there. It's holding perfectly. You can't tell I made a repair. So, a little mortar mixed with water slapped on the back of the new tiles. Pushed the tiles on and I was done. Simple. Easy.

Works well under water if you make it thick enough.

Worked well, mixed well, easy to clean up, bonded well, and directions were clear. That's all that I want to say no matter what your program requires.
