Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by aconcie Lightweight and fairly easy to install, but cutting wasn't so easy
I think I would not use this backboard again. When you cut it, there are little bead of cement that come out. It causes the board to fall apart in places. Its fine if you use the whole board or large cuts but small cuts are
not so easy and even though it says lifetime warranty, Im not so sure.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rich Hard to cut
I bought this product because it seems to be the up and coming product for concrete backer board. I used both the 1/4" and 7/8" product with similar results.
I found it extremely difficult to get accurate cuts because of the granular composition of the material, corners are easily damaged, and edges crumble easily when inserting screws. Screws go in easily, but it's easy to drive a screw all the way through the material. Taping and mortaring edges becomes a necessity. If you can use full sheets without cutting, this stuff is fine, otherwise, I prefer to use hardi board.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by beth Not for anyone with chemical sensitivities!!!!
This has alot of plus's, but its toxic off gas has me concerned. If had to do over, would not to use this product..what a toxic smell..Ive had my windows open for over a week and its still has a bad chemical odor. Otherwise its very easy to use. They need to make this without chemicals, you'll smell it bad at the store too

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Trev55 Easy to use and handle.
I ordered 31 sheets online, figuring 30 sheets based on square footage of ceramic tile installation plus one for any damage or mistakes. I took advantage of quantity discount, too. Home Depot had it all stacked and waiting when I arrived to pick it up. I loaded it myself a couple sheets at a time in the back of a Suburban with no trouble. I was able to keep the shipping pallet for unloading when I got home, which worked extremely well. It is easy to cut with a sturdy box-cutter knife, but you will go thru blades depending on how many cuts you have. I ended up with very little scrap from the 30 sheets, so I still have one sheet left over. I used the Rock-On #9 x 1-1/4" screws and they set down nice. This was much easier to use versus 1/2" thick cement board. Good product and good results.

It was installed about a month ago and all is well. I hope it stays that way forever.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jason31 Great for curved surfaces
I recommend this for curved surfaces, or when you need thin strips for window sill or shower alcove. For flat surfaces, I prefer the hardi backer, it will give better strength.
First thing I learned, is this is extremely easy to score and snap. You can accurately cut this into 2" strips. If you try to do this with hardi backer, it will not snap along the line.
The second thing I learned, is that the 1/4" wonder board is very flexible and bends into a smooth curve. It will make cracking noises, but it maintains its strength.
I had a difficult tile job, I framed the shower ceiling as a groin vault. This is like a barrel vault, but in two directions. I typically use hardi backer, but it is not flexible. I thought my only alternative was a Kerdi or Wedi board that costs about $200 per sheet. Luckily I went to Home Depot and tested out the flexibility of the wonder board and was quite surprised. It will bend just as well as the alternatives and is much less expensive.
