Hello johndog,
Bowl bolts are known for becoming notoriously difficult to remove with time. Applying some corrosion catalyst light PB blaster can help quite a bit. Sometimes it just comes down to grabbing a hacksaw and cutting the bolt free. I've included links to examples of both types of product below. I hope this is helpful.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality hardware Always use brass closet bolts so they won't rust. When it comes time to pull the toilet you'll be thankful you did. If the nuts rust to the bolts the only alternative is to hacksaw them off, No fun... believe me. November 7, 2014
