where does the spring go

where does the spring go
Asked by: junior
The spring goes underneath the plastic valve seat. You have to remove the old seat with a pair of long nose pliers or a small screwdriver. Once the seat is out, the spring is visible and can easily be removed. It's always a good idea to replace the spring and seat before installing the stem.

However, the stem is made from plastic, not metal like the original Delta part. So, the handle didn't feel like it was very tight. So, for this reason I wouldn't recommend this product unless it's the only option available.

It did not stop the water from leaking.if you have a Delta Water Faucet just call call them and they will send you the stem made out of brass for free. Delta has a lifetime grantee on their equipment. The cheap plastic ones, don't buy! They are very unstable.

I had to remove the junk parts and remove $0.50 worth of O-rings to rebuild the old cartridge. Save your money - get the O-rings from the original faucet and purchase only the seals.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Won't Last Replaced a wobbly dripping stem with this upon moving into my new homes primary bath (family of 4). 2 years later it's back exactly to wobbly & dripping. This valve is 100% plastic & doesn't last. Find a brass or factory replacement.

I went back to Homedepot and exchanged towards the delta omega part, having a sturdier metal stem. Very satisfied with the own part.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Faucet stem Stem and spring replacement worked very well BUT!, mini washer is trash! While fumbling around to seat parts in correctly the washer started to break pieces off! (little elasticity to be a rubber washer)

However, there were no instructions or diagrams included and none available online from Danco. I will look for a real Delta replacement next time.
