Easy enough to take the old bolts out and replace with new ones. The only problem was the gasket that goes between the water chest and the bowl, included in the package, wasn't the proper one. Unfortunately found this out the hard way when the water was turned back on and the flood happened. The gasket that came in the package seemed to fit properly but was not thick enough to fill the area. I went back to Home Depot to purchase the right one only to find they don't carry gaskets for older toilets. I had to go to a plumbing supply store to purchase the correct one. Everything is back together with no leaks.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kjtym Easy fix for leak between tank and toilet.
While not liking to do plumbing, just follow the instructions and it is an easy install. It will take about an hour to complete. Just make sure to turn off the water to the tank.

Tank bolt kit went in without a hitch and worked well, however, they started rusting immediately. Do they make one out of brass or another more stable material?

This product had everything i needed to replace the seal on the tak of my toilet. Just want to thanks to the Home Depot employee that spotted a odd size seal in my hand and helped me grab the right one. He even had a diagram drawn behind some products and showed me how to insall it!

Do not buy this product! I just installed a set, and within 24 hours (yes, 24 hours) the bolt heads inside the toilet tank began to rust. Unbelievable! Brass plated steel inside a toilet tank is questionable if of excellent quality, and these bolts didn't even come close! Fluidmaster #6102 contains solid brass bolts and is less expensive at the "other" big home improvement chain. Ensure you get solid brass or stainless steel ONLY.

Tried to repair toilet using original gaskets on a 2 piece toilet. Leaked a couple of weeks later. Installed the new tank bolts with gaskets, no leaks for one month. Expect good results for years to come, better choice than buying a new replacement toilet for $800+.
