  • Repositionable with no mess

Product Overview

Perfect Seal is an innovative new product that takes the guesswork out of toilet installation. Perfect Seal is truly universal and it will work with any toilet installation. It fits any drain size and flange depth. Whether your flange is above the floor or below the floor due to re-tiling, the Perfect Seal guarantees a perfect seal the first time, every time. The patented seal design combines specially designed rubber gaskets with encapsulated wax to form a seal that is three times stronger than a wax ring without the mess. Depending upon the height of the floor flange and the toilet horn, there may be instances when the toilet may not sit flush to the floor. In these situations, the black plastic ring that is inside the gray rubber casing of the Perfect Seal can be removed. The removal of this hard plastic ring will allow the Perfect Seal to be fully compressed and the toilet should then sit flush with the floor.

  • Perfect seal guarantees a perfect seal on the first toilet installation
  • Unlike wax rings, Perfect Seal allows the toilet to be repositioned as needed
  • Maintains a tight seal when common toilet and floor movement occurs
  • Accommodates flange heights from 1/2 in. above the floor to 1-1/2 in. below the floor
  • When the toilet does not sit flush to the floor, the black plastic ring inside the gray rubber casing can be removed allowing the Perfect Seal to be fully compressed.
  • Stabilizes toilet bolts

If your flange is at or above floor level, you will want to remove the blue ring. This ring should fit any application. For our floor, we had just had tile installed over an older floor so once the tile was laid, the toilet flange was sitting below the new level of the floor. I first tried the ring without the blue extension on it and the ring didn't sit high enough to seal with the bottom of the toilet. I put the blue extension on the ring and then it sealed perfectly.
For your application, you probably will need to remove the blue extension and then your toilet should seal and sit on the floor perfectly. Read Less

No. The rubber part above the wax works like an accordion and compress the wax below to seal at the flange. No mess either. The blue adapter is for a flange set below the floor level.

If your flange is above the floor, leave the blue ring off. That part is only needed if the flange is below the flooring. You still get the benefit of an easier, less messy installation plus the ability to adjust the bowl after installation.

The item had two heights. One for standard, at or just above floor height and an additional spacer for flanges below floor height. Just remove the blue adapter on the top and you are good to go. My flange was just above floor height, about 1/8", and it worked perfectly.

daash220, I've installed 3 or 4 of these so far in applications where the flange were both below & above the finished floor height. The materials are flexible & compress easily. So I don't think you have to worry about it. Not seeing the application I'd only question whether the toilet sits flush to the floor without a wax ring (dry fit). If there's a minimal gap I'd think you should be ok.

love the design. I question wax going IN the drain pipe is a good idea? I worry it will create clogs (wax is a sticky mess, probably don't want it inside the drain?)

Answer:
All toilets are mounted with wax. This is sticky enough that it doesn't flow into the pipe. If you have so much wax that it is going into the pipe, then you need to scrape some off. The wax typically resides around the pipe in the flange area. A little wax that works off the drain is better than sewage on your floor.

Answer:
The wax seals the gap between the toilet and the drain pipe. It should stick together and not fall into your drain pipe. Wax falling into the drain would cause no harm, but that may mean you screwed up the installation and you are allowing harmful gases to escape into the home. They could just smell up the house or the methane could explode proving Darwin correct again.

don't worry about it. it looks contained in the rim, meanwhile if you use a wax ring or two, then you have no control of where the wax goes. This contraption at least channels the wax somewhat.

Conventional seals are all wax. I have never had a problem with a wax blockage. The was is really sticky like you said but because of that It tends to stay together. When replacing a toilet seal I try not let any pieces of wax fall into the drain pipe because I think that that could cause a problem if a large piece of wax fell into the pipe.

I installed this and had to remove it. The theory behind it is great, but it did not prove to be a benefit in our situation. The wax did get into the pipe and cleaning up was a nightmare. We ended up installing your everyday normal mass market wax ring and have had no issues since. Hope this helps you - you are very intuitive!

Answer:
No it does not. You would be better off to purchase an extra thick wax ring with flange that comes with the bolts. Add a flange spacer if you need the extra height or you can stack an additional wax ring (without flange) to create a proper seal. In my experience the blue and black pieces separated and caused damage to the home from the resulting leak.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Improvement Over Old Style Wax Ring When I saw this item, I thought to myself, "Wow, something that might be better than those icky wax rings," so I tried it. I ended up being surprisingly happy with it! It comes with the option to install it for two different heights (no more wondering if you need regular or extra thick), the wax did not create any goop, I felt more confident doing the new toilet installation knowing that if I needed to reposition it, the ring wouldn't be wasted, and it came with clear instructions. The toilet has been in use for several months and works great. I will only buy these from now on instead of the old, goopy kind. July 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Did not work for me. Our house has an older cast iron flange. Purchased this product hoping it is better that the old wax rings style. I read all the instructions and started to install. My flange top is about 3/8” off the floor and product states it will work up to ½” off of floor. As instructed took the blue extender off and installed. Sat the toilet down and the toilet was not flush with floor at all. Took the toilet back off and per instructions removed the inner hard black ring so it would sit flush. Installed toilet and it still would not sit flush. I ended up throwing it away and drove to get a wax ring. Wax ring install and toilet sits flush with floor. June 28, 2016

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I'd Rather go Waxless Having Replaced the three toilets in my house recently, I opted to try this alongside two of the truly 'waxless' rings. In my opinion, the 'truly' waxless win out for ease of installation, flexibility, and ease of repositioning. I will say this product is leaps and bounds superior to the was ring alone, but I'm not sure why someone would opt for this one. May 2, 2016
