Product Overview

The DANCO Shower Volume Control Valve is designed to help you save water when your shower is in use. This diverter allows for the water supply volume to be turned down at the showerhead. Turn the knob to slow the flow of water while you lather up, shave, or wash your hair. When the water is turned down to a dribble, it does offer the benefit of keeping your water warm while the shower is in use. The valve fits between the shower's head and arm.

  • Durable brass and plastic construction provides strength and reliability
  • Fits standard 1/2 in. IPS connection
  • Designed to be used during shower use to control the water flow
  • Small trickle of water reminds user to shut water off at the shower handle when done
  • Trickle feature allows you to minimize water consumption saving energy and money
  • To install imply attach the valve between the shower arm and head
  • Easy to use – simply turn the nozzle to reduce or increase the water flow
  • Chrome finish matches most existing fixtures

Brass? or plastic?
Asked by: Exador
It's plastic, but strong like metal. The best I've ever used.

Volume Control

What level of control does this offer? I am not looking to pause the shower head completely, so much as keep set to slightly restricted flow for normal use and have the ability to turn it up for occasional higher volume use. The water conservation shower heads don't allow me to rinse my thick hair properly so I need another solution. Would like to use this so I can twist/set it to reduced flow (around 1.5gpm) , but increase it (open it up more) for washing hair.

It goes from a trickle to full blast. Greatest one I've ever had. Look at no others.

Is the minimum flow adequate (not too little nor too much) to use this as a drip valve to prevent pipes from freezing? My shower valve is difficult to adjust for a trickle flow.
Asked by: Sonu
Did not stop the drip.

This is an outstanding and wonderful idea but I haven't had good luck using plastic fittings with a shower message head (on a hose). The valve works great for reducing pressure at the head and if it were metal, would be an EASY 5-star rating. I'm hopeful Danco makes a metal one and will keep up the hunt because I'd gladly pay considerably more for this device if it were made of steel.

Be careful not to tighten it too much when making connections, or the plastic might crack. If the valve is set to reduce the water flow significantly, the flow will create quite a bit of (white) noise.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inferior parts quality I had this for less than 2 months when the plastic seal on the valve failed. Water all over. Spend a few bucks more and get a metal brass valve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value and surprisingly holds the cold/warm balance Not the best quality in material (plastic), but does the job, and cost efficient, I used it to attach to the shower head to wash my dog, works perfectly when I needed to shut off the water to apply soap, and even not as good as pressure balanced valve, it holds cold/warm balance fairly good, Will recommend it James
