The handle when installed has no stop and will rotate 360 degrees

The water is off when the handle is down (6 o'clock). It can rotate clockwise or counterclockwise, maximum hot around 3 o'clock. This does not seem normal. Shouldn't the handle only rotate counterclockwise from the water-off position and eventually hit a stop at the maximum hot water position?

Answer:
There is supposed to be a plastic insert for the plastic knob, mine was missing. You will have to buy a moen replacement knob at your store.

Answer:
Hi JH,
From what you describe, it sounds like the stem got inverted somehow during installation of the trim kit. Remove the handle and handle adapter, then with a pair of pliers, rotate the stem that the handle attaches to 180 degrees, and then reinstall the handle.
Best regards,

Thank you for your inquiry. The plate on this trim kit is 7 inches, and requires a 3.5 inch hole in the wall to install correctly.

The lever handle (S) is loose. The handle can pull on, & turn left/right, but it has abnormal amount of give. Screw (T) is tight.

I am looking for a brushed metal fixture like this but it needs to have two small screw holes just inferior to the handle attachment in order for it to fit properly. The image doesn't show or describe how this attaches. Does this item have two screw holes in this region?

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. This kit comes with multiple adapter plates, so that you can have the holes at 2 and 7 o'clock, or at 5 and 7 o'clock on the plate.

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.2 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap Plastic garbage It looks pretty, and I'm sure it can be installed easily, but it is so poorly constructed and engineered that there is no point to actually install it. For instance it comes with a gasket around the outer edge, but the plastic cover only holds it to the wall at 16 points, water is sure to infiltrate all around it causing mold to grow and your wall behind to rot out. Poor design!! August 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not universal The Product was not universal as advertized. It would not fit an old Moen installation. I was able to purchase one that fit at a local plumbing store. June 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible quality & a waste of my money! I purchased this kit to replace the Moen plastic handle because I like the lever and I've had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. The handle is always loose. I tighten it, use the shower & the handle is loose again. I am SO disappointed. I am not purchasing Danco products anymore. I've seen nothing but bad reviews (after the fact). I've learned my lesson! What a waste of money! I'm now having to replace the two kits I've bought with Moen ones. March 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product at a great price Excellent product at a very reasonable price. However, the original trim kit installed flush against the shower tile. This replacement has a circular lip that did not fit in the (very small) tile opening. I had to enlarge the opening using a hammer and chisel. However, I feel that the installed product will be better at preventing leaks into the wall than its predecessor. February 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ok for what you pay Using this on a "Type A" counter-clockwise-turn assembly, with the metal handle. The handle feels solid, doesn't wiggle if you properly position the hex screw through the hole in the handle adapter. Mine doesn't fall to 6:00 as some reviewers have reported (maybe they were trying this with a "Type B" push/pull assembly). The brushed nickel finish on the handle has a decent quality look/feel. The round back plate is plastic but it matches the handle and I think it's passable. The temperature-regulator is easy to adjust and I set mine to max out at the temperature I want by holding an oven thermometer in the water flow. September 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Going on 3 yrs with this trim. Still looks fabulous after 3 yrs. I have the polished chrome version and both the handle and escutcheon still look sparkling new. By now I would have gone through 4 plastic, cheap looking knobs that get hazy after a month. The handle does wobble a little but has not gotten worse over the years and it still works great! I'll take a little wobble over an ugly plastic knob any day! I'm so glad HD still sells it because it's the only metal handle that replaces the pull knobs without having to do major plumbing to change out the valve. I'm going out to get the brushed nickel version today. September 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shower handle Excellent product, and was easy to install by myself September 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! This product is not the best on the market, but unfortunately Danco is the only company that makes individual parts to replace shower handles. This product is very flimsy and does not stay tight. Once it is installed and the screws are nice and tight, the first time you turn the handle towards the hot water and then turn off the shower, the handle becomes loose. You have to remove the handle again and tighten the adaptor behind the shower handle. Next time you turn on the shower, the handle comes loose again. It seems that this handle just does not want to stay tight. I hate having to tighten the adaptor screw for the handle each time I take a shower!!! February 17, 2015
