The handle when installed has no stop and will rotate 360 degrees

The water is off when the handle is down (6 o'clock). It can rotate clockwise or counterclockwise, maximum hot around 3 o'clock. This does not seem normal. Shouldn't the handle only rotate counterclockwise from the water-off position and eventually hit a stop at the maximum hot water position?

Answer:
There is supposed to be a plastic insert for the plastic knob, mine was missing. You will have to buy a moen replacement knob at your store.

Answer:
Hi JH,
From what you describe, it sounds like the stem got inverted somehow during installation of the trim kit. Remove the handle and handle adapter, then with a pair of pliers, rotate the stem that the handle attaches to 180 degrees, and then reinstall the handle.
Best regards,

Thank you for your inquiry. The plate on this trim kit is 7 inches, and requires a 3.5 inch hole in the wall to install correctly.

I am looking for a brushed metal fixture like this but it needs to have two small screw holes just inferior to the handle attachment in order for it to fit properly. The image doesn't show or describe how this attaches. Does this item have two screw holes in this region?

Thank you for your inquiry. This kit comes with multiple adapter plates, so that you can have the holes at 2 and 7 o'clock, or at 5 and 7 o'clock on the plate.

Single-Handle Valve Trim Kit for MOEN Tub/Shower in Brushed Nickel is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Plastic garbage It looks pretty, and I'm sure it can be installed easily, but it is so poorly constructed and engineered that there is no point to actually install it. For instance it comes with a gasket around the outer edge, but the plastic cover only holds it to the wall at 16 points, water is sure to infiltrate all around it causing mold to grow and your wall behind to rot out. Poor design!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not universal The Product was not universal as advertized. It would not fit an old Moen installation. I was able to purchase one that fit at a local plumbing store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Knob to Heavy If you plan to utilize for a valve B applications, where you pull/push to turn water on and turn left/right for hot or cold water this valve will not work since the handle is too heavy. I called Danco and tech support advised me that I need to utilize the clear plastic handle since they manufactured the nicer handle too heavy and will not stay at the position you want, it will fall back down pointing to 6:00pm for a reference. I also called Moen (my adapter in the wall) for advise and they replaced my cartridge but that did not work either. Poor engineering.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! This product is not the best on the market, but unfortunately Danco is the only company that makes individual parts to replace shower handles. This product is very flimsy and does not stay tight. Once it is installed and the screws are nice and tight, the first time you turn the handle towards the hot water and then turn off the shower, the handle becomes loose. You have to remove the handle again and tighten the adaptor behind the shower handle. Next time you turn on the shower, the handle comes loose again. It seems that this handle just does not want to stay tight. I hate having to tighten the adaptor screw for the handle each time I take a shower!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Overpriced for use of only one handle We purchased this kit in expectation of replacing our plastic handle with a more aesthetically pleasing metal handle. After replacing the shower cartridge and installing the handle, we discovered that the metal handle is too heavy and will always revert back to the 6 o'clock (straight down) position. Therefore we have been forced to use the cheaper plastic handle, which is a complete waste of this products potential. Save yourself some money if you're planning on using the metal handle and find another alternative.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible quality & a waste of my money! I purchased this kit to replace the Moen plastic handle because I like the lever and I've had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. The handle is always loose. I tighten it, use the shower & the handle is loose again. I am SO disappointed. I am not purchasing Danco products anymore. I've seen nothing but bad reviews (after the fact). I've learned my lesson! What a waste of money! I'm now having to replace the two kits I've bought with Moen ones.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Going Cheap Let's say you need to flip a house, and the shower trim is rusting out. You really don't want to fork over an additional fifty or so bucks to do the job right, because that will cut into your profit. You already tried spray-painting the trim, and that didn't work. This will do the trick. Once this is installed, you can barely tell the back plate is made from plastic instead of metal. Put a really low wattage bulb in the bathroom, and the people viewing your house for sale won't be able to tell just how cheap you are, either. Maybe even consider using a black light. Everything looks cooler under a black light. If you do use this in your own shower, make sure you don't look at anybody else's shower ever again, because you'll suffer trim envy. Are you the sort of person who buys used tires? Well, this is the "used tire" of shower trim.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Flimsy Plastic I just purchased this last night along with a Moen 1222 cartridge to repair my shower. The escutcheon in the Danco kit is plastic, which is Ok. The handle for the posi temp install is metal, but the adapter (Q) is chintzy plastic which makes a flimsy fit when installed. You can only tighten the allen bolt but only so much; and yet the handle still wiggles. It will be a matter of time before the handle comes off. Not a good buy for required long tern use.
