As described in other descriptions the metal nut that goes on the inside of the tank cracked into 5 pieces during assembly. This is CHEAP steel/metal part from China. These parts needs to be US steel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HandymanCorner Nice handle with a few minor flaws
The handle has a solid feel when used. The shape and appearance are exceptional. The universal installation can be problematic for those unfamiliar with the mechanics of the system. I like the others above have had some issues. My young kids brutalize everything and they have bent the brass lift arm many times due to the amount of force applied quickly. This has also led to the wing nut coming loose. I installed a brass locking nut and it seems to have resolved that issue. As for the hole size issue another reviewer mentioned which is not unique to this product you can just install a plastic shim around the handle. I've had to do it with many name brand levers.

They call this a universal tank lever, but it sure didn't fit our brand new American Standard toilet.
Because we remodeled our bathroom, we wanted to have a lever for our toilet that matched the finish of our fixtures.
The problem is that the toilet's square hole is larger than the square stud on this lever. Therefore the stud was loose in the hole, and utterly useless for our application.
And it's not like it was an old or off-brand toilet. It is a brand new American Standard toilet - one of the best known in the industry.

I bought this to replace the cheap generic plastic chrome lever that came with the tank. I liked how the mostly metal components looked in comparison with the other choices on the rack at the store. Once I figured out how to best install the thing and after making a few minore adjustments, I really like the action of this lever and how it resets itself. I think part of the good feel comes from the heavier weight of the components. Will get another one for the other toilet too.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by KMac222 Metal broke in 9 months
I bought this lever because I thought the style would add a nice touch to the bathroom. Installation was a breeze. However, last week, I started having problems with the lever, and when I took it apart, it turns out the forged metal piece that sits inside the toilet tank cracked. As I looked at it further, the piece completely broke off. This should be designed to handle the environment inside the toilet tank. Buy a sturdier lever - not this one.

Bought a pair of these for two toilets. Nice look, but the exterior lever broke on one and the interior nipple broke on the other. Not worth the money. Get something sturdier.

This product has a major design flaw, I got 6 months service out of it before it broke. There is a small nip that limits the handle movement and it broke off.
