Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by KA Seems to be working fine for now: secure and not leaking. I pre-drilled the hole in the extension nipple before installing it onto the copper pipe. That helped a lot. I also used a healthy dose of silicone grease, not just on the copper pipe, but all around plastic adapter parts, which seems to be preventing leaks, particularly when the diverter is engaged.
Installation was not as easy as advertised and, as others have mentioned, the directions are pretty bad.

I have been working with the one that has the hidden diverter, but the issues seem to be the same. Agree with other reviews that this is a poor quality product with directions written by someone who should be flipping burgers.
I suggest strongly (and this should be included in the directions) that BEFORE screwing on the spout, the installer should turn on the water and block the water coming out of the extension. This should divert the water to the shower and show if you have any leaks. I have made a little video showing the process.
It is interesting that this works well for some and not others. I am wondering if this has to do with the length and width of the stub.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tom Leaks!
I bought a second one in the event I damaged it installing and both of these leaked. I ended up going to a plumbing supply store for the old school spin on to the threaded pipe style. Much better and getting hard to find!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by KK Horrible Product- spout shoots right off the pipe!
This tub spout looks nice and was easy to install, however, as soon as you divert the water up to the shower, the pressure shoots the spout right off the copper pipe! It works just fine for running water to the tub but shoots off every time we try to switch over to the shower. We have installed 2 of these at separate times to ensure we followed all the directions, and the same problem keeps happening.

First time replacing a valve such as this. Had to first figure out how to remove existing faucet. In the process cut groove in the copper nipple. Attached replacement without too much difficulty. Appears to be working. Instructions not all that clear. Could be improved upon.

Much easier to put new one on than to remove old one.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by McE Confusing instructions, leaks
Believe every word of the negative reviews. The instructions are poorly written. Installation is unnecessarily complicated. The unit leaks. A failure of a product in every possible category (i.e., instruction clarity, ease of installation, functionality). The leak was the deal breaker. Returned it yesterday. Won't touch Danco again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by FrustratedHomePlumber Not a great Product
The product is not easy to use and despite prolong effort, I could not get it to stop leaking. I finally picked up a no-name spout from a local plumbing supply store for half the price of this Danco product and had that installed in barely anytime at all. I am returning this Danco product back to Home Depot.
