bought this product to patch up my stucco, but no matter how much time I took to apply the product it has poor adhesive qualities and looks terrible once it's dried. It also cracks easily.

I have bought this product multiple times and it worked well. Three times, however, the container had already set up solid. Very annoying.

Do not put this product on your house. It will not stand up to a grass trimmer.

During application, even if you dampen the underlying masonry, this material does NOT adhere readily. Yes, I applied thin layers.
Possibly because it is so light weight, the usual finishing techniques for stucco are not effective. My neighbor tried to use his float trowel to bring out the texture with very poor results. Yes, he has experience with "real" stucco.
As each relatively thin layer of this premixed stucco material dried, it developed cracks and did not seem to have much physical strength, neither of which generated any confidence.
Fortunately, after is was nearly dry, an extremely thin layer, with a little water dabbed on filled the cracks and dried without visible cracking.
Although I did not achieve much of a sandy texture, the final result is quite hard and accepted latex paint readily after drying over night here in our famously dry Arizona summer heat.
In this non-critical application, the results of the stucco repair are acceptable, but not particularly attractive. In retrospect, I wish I had gone to the extra trouble and expense to mix and use some conventional stucco patching material.
