Customer Questions & Answers

Is this products paintable and durable enough to act as a finished floor?

Would like to fill the cracks and knotholes in a plywood floor, then paint it. Is this product durable enough to be used without another layer of flooring on top?
Asked by: bobby
The product isn't suitable to use as a layer of flooring. It's meant to level the floor under plywood or concrete, but it can be painted or covered.

I have an existing parquet floor. can I use this in low spots up to 1/4" and install hardwood over existing floor?

Asked by: don
DAP Flexible Floor Patch & Leveler would not be recommend for use over an existing floor covering material that has a nonporous coating (examples: sheet vinyl, ceramic tile, coated/sealed wood).

What is the max thickness this product can be poured? We have some low spots on a plywood sub floor, up to 1" in depth.

Level wooden sub floor with high and low spots. Swales.
Asked by: badatdiy
DAP Flexible Floor Patch and Leveler is not a "pourable" (self-leveling) formula, it is a thick "paste like" texture that must be trowel applied. Apply up to ¼" inch and let dry approximately 6 hours to a hard consistency. For thickness greater than ¼" inch, apply in multiple coats allowing each coat to dry completely between application. Maximum application depth is ¾" of an inch.

Can this product be smoothed after it is dry. I.E. can it be sanded?
Asked by: DJB
Flexible Floor Patch & Leveler should be smoothed to the desired finish while still in its wet form, as this product does not sand well.
