4 oz. Light Oak Plastic Wood Filler is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Messy installed crown molding that was already stained and lacquered to cabinets. Used the walnut Plastic Wood to fill the nail holes and what a mess. This stuff sticks to lacquer like crazy. Impossible to wipe off. My intent was to fill the holes, lightly sand and then hit with stain and buff so as to not have to re-lacquer. Now, I have to wet sand with 400 grit just to get the excess filler off and will have to touch-up spray after finishing to get the sheen back. Any tips on how to avoid such a mess next time? Is there a solvent or something that will take this stuff of lacquer instead of elbow grease?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I really want to love this This is my second tube. The first was a liquid, or so I thought. I used it to fill in hardware holes, but as I got half way down the tube, the product was really dry. It appears as though the liquid was supposed to be mixed in with the dry material, however, it must have separated while in the store shelf. I kneaded the product before use too, but I guess that didn't work. I just purchased a second tube this morning. Began working on my project, kneaded the tube, pressed the product into the nail hole, and it burst open from the top, aiming for my forehead and hair. I'm just glad it didn't get in my eyes. It's too bad because this product is exactly what I need! Stainable, durable and can be screwed again after it dries. I will give it one more try, but first I will return it back to the store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two bd experiences Today I bought a tube of this to use to fill some cracks in my deck. As I squeezed the tube, it basically blew up in my hand. It was of no use. I bought the same product about a month ago and it was fine. A year or so ago, I tried the same product in a can. It was dry off the shelf. Years ago, this was a reliable product. Not so much so now it seems. You also used to be able to get, if I recall correctly, a decent sized tube of the product. All I can find now is around 2 oz tubes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This should be sold as a firestarter, not a filler. I used this product because it was recommended to me by the store assistant. I really wish I hadn't listened to him, because this stuff doesn't work well at all. I really want my money back and now I'm going to be behind on my project. I'm redoing my countertops with wood and used this to help fix some flaws. Didn't work well at all. I had to use my fingers for application, and it was like somewhat clay-like, but very hard to properly fill the holes and very grainy. I'm waiting on it to dry so I can sand it but I'm not confident that the results will be proficient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Update easy to use filling in Ok so i sanded and applied my 2nd layer sanded again after just an hour and added a little in the divets i let that dry again an hour and sanded...pics below This piece i used it on is 1950's and shabby chic'd no need for it to absolutely flawless (justifying)....however i was able to build the bottom and fill in this cavity ...the big chunk of wood missing that made this piece ugly is now in the past...just need to do a little more sanding, chalk painting and its as good as the rest of the original wood....smooth as a babys butt :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst wood filler I've used Before first use I had to add acetone to be able to use. I got it to the consistency of peanut butter. The spot that I had to fill was quite small but to make it blend I extended about 3 inches to each side of the area to be repaired before I could get to the midway point the plastic wood that was being spread was drying so quickly that within 1 minute of starting it was unworkable

Rated 5 out of 5 by from College Dorm Doors I am using this to repair missing laminate on dorm room doors. I did add some acetone to make it more pliable and easier to spread, I am applying it in thin layers, sand smooth and reapply to get desired thickness. So far I am very content with this product, it also helps to apply it to a clean dry surface, after all it is meant to bond to wood.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good grief, do something about the container simple patching of nail gun holes. While squeezing the product from the tube , as others have noted, the crimped end burst open. After using probably 2% of the product, the rest is useless. Expect way better from DAP. Apparently this is a common problem. Will warn off friends.
