Rated 2.2 out of 5 by 25 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Does not hold up First time application I waited 24 hours as stated in this advertisement. About 45% of the caulk washed out at first shower. I called DAP and the rep told me that I had to wait 36 hours before using the shower. I waited 42 hours after the I cleaned up the first application and the second caulk application washed out after three showers. I bought both tubes at the same time but I can't read the exp. date. Bad experience, similar to what I had some years ago when I tried this product. September 24, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not for showers Like other reviewers, I used this in my shower - cleaned and dried the tub overnight, then applied the caulk and waited 36 hours for it to dry like the instructions said. Nine showers later, the caulk is soft and peeling. I will have to waste another weekend recaulking. November 16, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Works Well, I've read the other reviews, lots of negatives, but my personal experience wasn't that bad. It was easy to use. We used this in our 2nd bathroom. I had no issue of it "not curing" and then "washing off". But then again, the bathroom rarely gets used (mainly for the occasional overnight guest) ... so it probably had plenty of time to dry properly so that it could do its job. As for the name, KWIK, there really wasn't anything quick about it, it definitely took well over a week to cure. Not sure if I would recommend it at this time. October 17, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Absolute crud, takes too long to cure Easy to apply, but does not dry quickly at all. It says 36 hours on the label, but then states 7-14 days for full cure!!! No one has that kind of time to wait around for this stuff, particularly in water sealant applications. Also thicker applications will cure even slower. Go with the GE Silicon II instead, it comes in the same size dispenser and sets up far faster, in hours not weeks! May 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by NOT HARD TO SQUEEZE LIKE SOME OTHER CAULKS I've used a number of different caulk products over the years, finding many (if not most) extremely difficult to squeeze out of the tube, even when using a caulk "gun" during application. This DAP Kwik Seal product describes itself as "easy to apply" and it is! I didn't need to use a caulk gun for this one simply because I cut the end of the nozzle off at about the desired width I needed to caulk my master bathroom tub area, and was able to apply it directly by squeezing the tube. I have never been a particularly good "caulker" so I have devised creative ways to get the best result possible considering my lack of skill. I'm attaching some photos in case it helps others. Simply put, I cut a small piece of thick cardboard into a triangle, and then I cut one "point" off the triangle at about the desired amount to achieve the width of caulk line I want. I apply the caulk as evenly as I can, and happily this DAP product made that very easy, and then I run my little piece of triangular cardboard down my caulk line. This removes the excess caulk, leaving a nice even caulk line that only requires a minimum of cleanup to complete the job. It dried in about 3 hours, although the instructions say to wait 24 hours for complete drying. I would definitely recommend this DAP Kwik Seal product because it squeezes out very easily straight from the tube, cleans up with water and a sponge, and gives a bright white seal.
