Answer:
DAP Alex Plus can be cleaned up with soap and water while still in the uncured form. After the product is cured, it must be removed by physically cutting/scraping. Dried films or residue left after mechanical removal can be cleaned up with with a petroleum solvent such as mineral spirits (paint thinner).

Answer:
If you have floating hardwood floors do not seal the gap between the trim and the floor.
The easiest place for mice to enter is where the kitchen sink drain line enters the wall. There is normally a gap there where mice can enter. If the gap is small this caulk will seal it. If the gap us more than 1/4" wide I would seal it with a spray foam.

Answer:
While the product will bond to those materials and is appropriate for sealing the joint as described to prevent the passage of air/moisture. The product does not contain any ingredients that would make it effective for stopping rodents or boring insects.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by doesn't always cure well I have used this silicone in the past but I think I am going to use something else from now on. I bought two tubes of it to do my kitchen I only did a little bit because I ran out of time but I am glad I only did that little bit. It cured for 3 days and had dried clear on the third day a few drops of water got on it and it turned white again and turned to soup. I had to scrape it out and redo. On the plus side it is very easy to work with when applying but the negative is it seems to have a very long and sensitive cure time. The GE product is more expensive and not as easy to work with but at least it actually cures in a reasonable time. June 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good stuff I have used this stuff for a few years now and don't have any complaints. It's clear-rubber silicone which will attract dirt and will come off of porcelain and metal things if scrubbed or rubbed- it's rubber basically. It is meant to be applied to a clean DRY surface without ANY oily reidues or it won't stick. They make expensive sealers for other things like that. I use it mainly on my sheds of 2x4 and OSB-plywood to seal around all the seams and gaps and it works great. Currently have had single applications last up to 3-years without a 2nd coat. I generally run about a 3/8-inch bead slightly pressed into grooves, seams, and embutments and works great. Never had what everyone else calls "shrinkage". Use the right caulk for the right job. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not good at all I get this caulk because we already paint the doors/windows trims so i expect the clear will do the job, apply white but dry clear BUT when is complete dry i see the gaps again and i need to re-caulk everything, is hard to see if its complete close or not because is clear but i can feel the edge of the trim on the wall. I will keep using the white for now on. August 16, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not clear but opaque white i thought this would be clear and good to use inconspicuously with wood. the bottle reads "clear" but is completely opaque white. August 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Huge shrinkage Goes on and cleans up well. Shrinks worse than I ever imagined. If you use this product, plan on two or more applications. June 9, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Trash This product is complete trash when used outdoors. I applied it to the trim on the exterior of my camper. It turned to soup after one decent rain. Yes it is advertised as exterior product, and yes it rains outdoors. 2 March 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works Well Easy to use, dries clear. I had no problem with it shrinking or failing to cure. You do need to keep it dry until it turns clear, showing it has cured. Time to cure varies according to the thickness of the application. Easy cleanup compared to other caulks I have used. June 11, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works, but shrinks I completely agree with RichieRich03. This produce is very easy to clean up, works great, and dries generally pretty quickly, but it does shrink after you apply it for about 12 hours. I had to recaulk the inside of my window sills using this caulk, but when I came back the next day, it left tiny crack lines, and I had to recaulk them. Probably would not recommend it since it is labor intensive to caulk and recaulk. March 23, 2014
