Product Overview

Daptex Plus is designed to meet the tough standards demanded for professional window and door installations while effectively filling and sealing large cracks, gaps and voids. Unlike polyurethane foams, it will not over expand, is toolable, moldable and cleans up easily with water. It remains soft and flexible when dry so it will not bow, buckle or distort frames. The innovative latex polymer foam technology provides water resistance and is paintable with latex paints once cured. Daptex Plus helps reduce energy loss as well as pest infiltration and is ideal for sealing air leaks to improve energy efficiency and reduce heating and cooling costs.

Daptex Plus 12 oz. Window and Door Foam Sealant is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 104.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST minimal expanding foam I have used! The first time I used this product was to seal a kit metal building from the inside for water and dust leaks. It rained before all the product cured and some of it washed out. The areas where it had cured, were dry, so after area dried up, I reused it right over the same places. When it cured, no water came in. An additional plus was the outside of the building where it oozed out was washed clean!! The next time I used this product, I was sealing a new window installation in an older house where I needed flexible filler to back up a paintable caulk. I used too much and found that after it cured, a light hand with a wire brush, cleaned up where caulk was needed. Now whenever I need a filler in an area that needs a flexible air, dust or moisture barrier and is easy to clean up, I use DAPtex Plus before caulking. This week's job was an older door installation with metal trim next to red brick that was gaping. After filling the gap, letting it cure for about 24 hours I used a wire brush lightly on the metal trim and the red brick to clean them up, and to increase the surface to filler gap so the caulk would lock itself in place. Now all I need to do is match paint the caulk to the metal trim. Clean up was a snap, no harsh mechanical or chemical cleaners were needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This the most disappointing sealer I have ever used I used to along my foundation but it never cured. Moisture, temperature who know exactly but even inside the results were similar. Spongy on the outside and wet inside.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor performance I tried this as a more convenient alternative to the other foams. It started out well - easy application, easy cleanup. But it never cured to any really solid form. There were gaps in the initial foam application that opened after "curing" and then couldn't be filled with additional foam. Even after 3 days it's still soft and crumbly and it feels porous. I finally removed it from the gap I was trying to seal (using my fingers) and went back to the old foam. Job done the first attempt. Note that the job was an indoors leak sealing attempt in a century home. Average temperature was 18C. No moisture. I really can't think of where this product would be useful.

It doesn't work!!!!!!! Applied using directions. The material runs down and out making a huge mess. I paid good money for this thinking that I was getting something better than the yellow foam that has always worked in the past. This product cannot compare!!!!! It will not seal, it will not insulate, it will not hold, it makes a huge mess, as it is runny like diarrhea. I got it all over my clothes as it dripped out. Ruined the paint on my outside wall as well. This company should be sued.

I shocked the can for almost 5 minutes before applying to make sure I had a good mix. After attaching the dispenser tube, I began sealing an area above a window. The attachment broke within 10 seconds making it useless. I was able to finish the area (36 inches) with the broken attachment. Since it was around the upper side of the window, it kept sagging. Dry time is 24 hours. After 8 hours, I removed what was done as I couldn't contain the sagging.

The best thing that I can say about this product is that it did not permanently damage anything. It fails at its intended purpose, and you will waste your time removing the failed application. Thankfully, it cleans up easily with towels and water. Even the dried foam dissolves in water.
