Product Overview

The best latex sealant available. The technologically advanced formulation combines the durability and flexibility associated with a silicone sealant, with the paint ability, low odor and water clean-up of a latex sealant. It is permanently flexible, withstanding up to 50% total joint movement without cracking or losing adhesion. This is the best latex sealant for sealing the envelope of your home to keep the cool air in during the summer and the cold air out during the winter and preventing the infiltration of moisture, dust and pests that can damage your homes structure. It is the best choice to use around crown molding, where cracks often occur after seasonal temperature fluctuations and settling. It can also be used around windows, doors, trim, siding, butt joints and corner joints. It is paintable and adheres to all common building materials. Apply with any standard caulking gun. Cleans up easily with soap and water. Meets the requirements of ASTM C 920.

Customer Questions & Answers

can this product be used on cracks between a concrete sidewalk and a brick wall?

I have a sidewalk made of concrete and a brick wall. The crack between the two needs to be caulked. I'm trying to determine if I can use this product.
Asked by: GoodHomeowner
DAP® DYNAFLEX 230® Premium Indoor/Outdoor Sealant is not designed or recommended for use on traffic surfaces (foot or vehicle). For these type of applications, we recommend the use of DAP® Premium Polyurethane Construction Adhesive Sealant.

Dynaflex 230 10.1 oz. Tan Premium Indoor/Outdoor Sealant (12-Pack) is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from GOOD STUFF! As a General Contractor I have tried many caulking products over the past 25 years and I have to say this is my go to caulk. I not only use it on exterior projects but it also works great caulking in backsplashes and trim components. Have also inspected projects several years after completion and the caulking still looks great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All purpose sealant that works I've been using this product for a general purpose sealant for at least 5 years and have been very pleased with its performance against the weather conditions in Florida. I would recommend this product anytime for general construction

Rated 1 out of 5 by from paint won't adhere We replaced siding trim on a back porch exterior with Hardy board and used this caulk to seal all edges and holes. It dried overnight and the next day we painted with Sherwin Williams Emerald exterior acrylic latex paint (very expensive), and it would not cover the caulked areas. Everywhere we caulked the paint bubbled. After painting the caulked areas 4-5 times, the cover was finally almost acceptable. We will never use this product again and are returning what is left to the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The trick is to let it dry thoroughly I have tried scores of caulks over thirty years of home maintenance projects, I have settled on Dynaflex for most interior and exterior uses, with the exception of places I know are either going to stay really wet, or need to be painted quickly. DAP's Sidewinder works well for those caveats, but it's harder to clean up and it doesn't finger tool as well. I'm only writing this review because someone was asking me about caulks today, and I couldn't quite think of "Dynaflex" since I didn't have a tube of it handy---so I checked DAP's website for the name, then came across the review from the person who had trouble with paint adhesion. My guess is that the gaps were wide enough to need a little extra drying time. I wait until the whitish color goes away completely, then it's safe to paint. It's flexible, it's easy to work with, it doesn't reek, it's easy to clean up, and it's relatively inexpensive.
