Customer Questions & Answers

Is this the same as a silicone adhesive? If not then what is the difference?

Asked by: Glenn
With respect to silicone based products, sealants and adhesives share some commonality in performance, but are not always interchangeable. As a general rule, sealants tend to be too soft and flexible for use as a "proper adhesive", adhesives tend to be harder setting, which means that they may not afford enough flexibility when sealing joints that are subject to movement.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not sure about this product? I have just used this silicone in my 2 showers at home and after almost 24 hours the one shower does not seem to have set up like other silicones I have used in the past? I will give it some more curing time and add to the reviews when I kmnow more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Metal corrosion Reading the instructions the message indicates that this silicone compound can be corrosive to metals. However there is no indication as to what metals this product should not be used on. Further searching indicates while it is curing it emits acetic acid. But this MAY create a better adhesion between the silicone and, for example aluminum products.
