Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked fine for me I tackled what I felt was a straightforward plumbing DIY project - installed a new sink and upgraded our garbage disposal. I did not want to use the drain plug on my garbage disposal this time around to avoid an additional point of failure for gunk to accumulate as well as the issue of having to introduce a loop in the drain line to avoid a backup of water back to my dishwasher. Due to a clearance problem, I had to install the WyE horizontally. There was nothing in the instructions as to whether this was permissible and I could find nothing on the internet. After several days, there is no disturbance in the force so hopefully I am ok with this layout. I was also able to use the collar that came in the package without issue to secure my drain line to the WyE. As for as I can tell, the product is simple PVC. Where it's made strikes me as irrelevant. You can see from a picture I attached how my installation looked, especially the horizontal placement of the WyE. February 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked Great! Used this to replace a garbage disposal with a dishwater inlet and it's perfect for what I needed. If too long it can be cut. Just make SURE that you cut below the dishwasher intake measuring from INSIDE the pipe. If you need a really short pipe, like I did, you could ruin it if you don't measure it from the inside. Side tip - if you happen to need a short piece of dishwasher hose (like I did) go to a autoparts store and buy what you need from a roll. As you can see in my pics I needed a small piece of rubber hose with a 5/8" inside diameter. Home Depot only carries a 6' hose for $9.00. I picked up a 12" piece of hose from O'Reilly for $1.50. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by nut doesnt seal well The plastic nut is cheaper plastic and doesn't seal against the sink well. Would slip off the metal strainer. Replaced with metal tailpipe and nut. May 17, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hi-Line Dishwasher Wye Tailpiece PVC Bought two. Washers were packed inside tubes and deformed - oval shape rather than being round - and didn't seal with sink strainer. Bought two more round washers. One unit now sealed and one didn't. Molding process left uneven seams at mold joint - ridge on one side, valley on other. Shaved ridge flat, better but still did not seal completely. Heated washer in boiling water for approximately 45 seconds making it "softer" and then tightened union while washer was still "warm". It finallly sealed. March 29, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This is Junk!!!!! The Slip nut on this product will not tighten tight enough to the sink strainer before it strips... I tried 4 different ones from home depot and they all leaked.. The problem is that the slip nut is designed very poorly and will strip every time.. before you can get it tight enough to keep the sink from leaking...I tried everything that the home depot reps told me and it still didn't work...I went on youtube to find out if there was a secret way to install this part didn't find anything helpful...I finally decided to buy a metal or steal design just like this plastic one and after 3 weeks of trying to stop the leaks...the steal pipe did the trick.....buy the steal design just like this plastic one...or your gonna have a leak at some point in the near future....even if u use plumbers tape until u buy the steal pipe your gonna have leaks under your sink...hope this helps...hope my suffering will be a blessing to you. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This product is useless. First problem: Made in China!! Second problem: The connector nut does not hold onto the threaded sink basket strainer. Pipe blew off strainer once dishwasher went to drain. Piece of junk. Shouldn't expect anything better from China anyway. August 20, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by buy the brass like all the other reviews, not possible to tighten enough before treads strip and release, bought rubber gaskets for sink drain, still can't make seal, HD simply should not sell this product, complete waste of money and more important, time! September 23, 2014
