I needed a compact table saw as my space is limited. Good quality construction, very accurate fence, smooth operation. Raising and lowering of blade is very smooth, adjusting blade angles is easy. Ample power for ripping even through hardwood. If you want a better quality portable saw I would recommend spending the extra few dollars.

I have limited space in my garage, this saw stores great, easily detaches from the stand also to make it even more space efficient to store away stand and saw separate.
The fence of this saw is what I love about it. Precision cuts all the time. The fence always stays parallel to the blade once its calibrated.
I love working with this saw it does exactly what it should all the time. Its more than I expected in a portable.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Umbawastich A very powerful portable
I was looking for a benchtop, but found this saw on sale at H.D. - , and have found this saw to be as powerful as my old "iron top" cabinet saw, but very easy to move around. Also the fence is extremely accurate and I haven't had to adjust since the first time (which was quite easy) - agree with previous reviews - don't remove it from the base, otherwise it performs perfectly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kegger Great saw for shop or contractor use
Very portable and the stand is very easy to raise / lower. This makes a great shop saw as it is more powerful than a lot of stationary saws. I made the mistake of taking it off the base for taking it to job sites. After awhile the plastic base started to crack from the rough use. My advice, keep it on the base

I did the reviews before buying. This saw gives the power, accuracy and portability I wanted. The precision rail adjustment makes changes in cuts very easy. Home Depot delivered ahead of time and as promised!

I have now had the Dewalt DW744XRS for about a month and have a few hours under my belt with it.
First off the Pros: The table has plenty of power, the rack and pinion fence rail is spot on accurate as well very easy to use. The riving knife has been a night and day difference for me, cant believe I have been cutting so long without one. Right out of the box I measured the accuracy with a digital caliper and was on within .005" which is easily acceptable to me.
Cons: there were very few but hey I have to complain about something. I found the assembly to be a waste of time where as my old Ridgid was already to go out of the box. Don't get me wrong I won't be going back to my Ridgid any time soon. The second part is more of a "wish they would have" than a con. I wish this would come from the factory with the DW7441 Side and Outfeed supports as I have found them to be very helpful and well worth the extra $70 as I think most others would use them as well.
Overall I would highly recommend this table saw as I have used several others and feel this is the best out for the money. Dewalt has been building some top quality power tools for years now and they havent stopped short on this one thats for sure.
