I had an old Rockwell that finally gave up the ghost. Oh, the motor was still going strong but all of the fences and adjustments were worn out and were no longer "true".
I checked around and saw that this saw got pretty good reviews and the price was in the range I was hoping to pay.
It was advertised at a slightly lower price at another building center so I took a copy of the ad to Home Depot and they matched the price and gave me an additional 10% off. Can't beat that!
I got the saw home and proceeded to assemble it. The instructions are fairly clear and I put the thing together in less than an hour. It actually took me longer to adapt the stand from the Rockwell to fit the DeWalt.
I had minimal adjustments to make to the fence or the blade. They were almost spot on right out of the box.
Fired it up and put together a small project in half the time it would have taken me with my old Rockwell. The DeWalt works like a charm! I hooked up my Shopvac and got waaaayyyy less dust than usual. The wife loves that.
The only negatives are the noise and the miter gauge.
This saw is louder than my old worn out Rockwell. The miter gauge, in my opinion, is too short and feels "flimsy". Luckily, my old miter gauge fits the slots perfectly so I'm keeping it and using it with the new DeWalt.
All in all, I'm more than satisfied. I love the new saw.

This DW7480 has been serving me well for about a month. I chose this over the DW745 because of availability. This saw replaced a 20+ year old cheap table saw that I used infrequently.
I immediately replaced the blade with one that has more teeth.
i didn't have to adjust anything on the saw to use it. You must install the safety hardware.
I have used the saw to rip several 2x's to make 2x2's. I also use it to rip 1x's. The wood runs through easily and leaves no saw marks IF you keep the board snug up against the fence. Ripping longer pieces takes a bit more practice and could probably use a second person.
The fence is rock solid. I have full confidence the front and back are matched every time. This is the best feature of the saw. A handy push handle resides to the right of the fence for easy access.
I recommend this saw for hobbyist/DIY person. Not sure how it would do for on site, every day work.

Every manufacturer has its particular "best" tool and no brand corners the market on every tool it makes. In my "book" this is DeWalts best. This little saw is a jewel and the developers thought of pretty much everything. Plenty of power as well as smooth easy to operate adjustments. What I appreciate most is the fence system that locks down the fence with presision both front and back with the simple clicking of lever, a feature rare on any saw let alone a job site portable under $400. Also keeping a push stick on the fence was pure genius. Little things like that and the twist cam finger lift in the blade insert for easy removal make this saw head and shoulders above any portable I have used since starting in this business back in 1964.

I went with the dewalt 10 in compact saw for a few reasons. I don't have much room in my garage for extra tools and the compact size sold me on this particular saw. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't need to make any adjustments to the blade or the fence out of the box. The rack and pinion fence is very accurate and the fence stays in place. The stock blade works great for my plywood and Mdf projects. I haven't used this saw for harder and heavier woods like oak and hickory yet but it works great for my smaller nightstands and other small projects. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants a sturdy accurate portable saw

I have had this saw (7480) for more than a year and it's great. let it be known it's not made for dado blades, the heavy duty rolling saw stand will work with this saw. you have to remove the rubber feet and attach the mounts that comes with the stand and it will work perfectly much better than the butter fly stand than they keep pushing for this saw

I'm an amateur woodworker, and have been building for the last 2 years with just a circular saw and miter saw. Getting straight, accurate cuts proved difficult for me...until now. I LOVE this saw!! It was easy to setup and is light enough that I can pick it up and move it around if needed. The fence system is GREAT and even the blade that came with the saw is sufficient for my needs. Only thing I don't care for is the anti-kickback leaves little grooves in the wood, but it is a small price to pay for safety I suppose. I have not used the miter gauge or cut at a bevel yet so I cannot speak to those features. Definitely one of my favorite purchases for my shop!

Was every easy to set up and I was impressed with all the safety features there are. I checked the squareness of the blade and was spot on and the ease of use was outstanding. I really enjoy the ease of moving it from one place to another. the only thing I need know is a way to put it on a stand if that is possible. If you can help that would be great.
