The tape is compact, and has a stake loop. It also has a wide, heavy duty tape. I wanted to like it, but I returned it because the geared return mechanism is geared too high, making it very fast, but too difficult to reel in. After awhile, this starts to get irritating. too bad they didn't make it a 2:1 ratio. I have lots of other Dewalt tools that I really like. This one is a no-keeper.

Easy to read large print. Makes running long measurements quick. Very difficult to reel in the tape, flimsy construction.

The tape reel was good, the tape at the end was bent but was usable. (the end with the hock.) Must of happen in the packing process. I usually purchase one of these tapes for work and they are usually located at the store. Kinda of disappointed that they no longer carry them in the Auburn store.

New, out of the box, almost impossible to roll up. Little dirt/mud. IMPOSSIBLE to roll up. Wadded up in the bottom of a bucket. First day of use. Hate it.

The tape delaminates. The end tears off after use. It is not built for every day use, only for casual use.

Easily the best long tape measure on the market. Gear-driven winding makes it easy, and the tape marking (both sides) are easy to read while standing. Sure, it costs more--but you'll only have to buy it once.

This fiberglass tape is Very easy to read, doesn't tangle or kink up when being unrolled or rolled back up. And I really like the fact that it won't rust! A little more expensive than a steel tape-- but SO worth it!
