I looked at a lot of inspection cameras and decided to bite the bullet for the expensive DeWalt. The large screen is great and the best reason to buy it is for the detachable screen. I never thought I would need a detachable screen but I use it all the time, it makes it so much easier. Expensive but worth it!

I had really high hopes for this camera. I like that the head is detachable, that's why I chose this one over other brands. The head falls off very easily. Also, the lights aren't very bright so it makes it hard to see. Right out of the box I had a problem, as soon as you would turn on the led lights on the end of the camera, the bottom right corner of the screen would blur, once you turn the lights off then it goes away. I immediately sent it to dewalt in Des Moines for repair. After 2 weeks I received it back from the repair shop. I took it out of the box and tried it, and again, the bottom right corner of the screen was blurry every time you turn the lights on. They didn't fix it at all! I expect quality from dewalt, and this is not it. I am very disappointed with it and I will be returning it.

What good is a camera that is your sole means of seeing the unseen if you can't see it? I bought this camera after returning two other similar brands, so I was very disappointed when I thought I was getting the best. The camera is well built like Dewalt usually does but the video was dark and fuzzy/blurry inside of walls. Even when viewing objects outside of walls and in regular daylight, they were discernable but not as clear as I expected. Maybe you just can't get a bright hi-res image for under $200-$300. Therefore I returned it. I was disappointed because an inspection camera can be very useful.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JayTexas Useful, wish I had it sooner.
This comes in 3 camera sizes, I ordered the middle size because it was small enough to slip through a spark plug hole (the engine looks great inside). Wish we had it before when we were remodeling the house and building the car, it would have saved hours of work. I liked this model because I can snap pictures for later reference - some of the other models don't allow for that. I can also slide the view screen off, if needed. However, as other reviews have said, it can be disorienting when looking through the view screen and not remembering if the camera lens is up, down, or sideways (because it's 3 feet away, snaked into a wall). Really, I wish I'd had this about 4 years ago.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by furnaceguy Wireless screen doesn't work well
Disappointed with the quality of the picture. One of the features I was looking forward to using was the detachable screen. When you detach the screen the picture quality is awful. A bar keeps appearing and moving from the bottom to the top of the screen so this function is worthless.

Quality product. High resolution camera and monitor. It is, however, difficult to determine the orientation (up/down/left/right) of the image. I do recommend this product.
