The 14.4 XR no longer holds a charge. (can it be refurbed?) Is the XRP an upgraded capacity unit or is it also a different size as well? Drill works fine ... if I could find another couple of batteries.

Answer:
I don't think so , the connections for the case will not match up. I don't see where Home Depot carries a battery except for the 18v . EBay has lots to offer Google Ryobi 14.4 volts batteries HD will lead you to 18 volt batteries there are a few battery places that can also help..

Answer:
The dc9091 is the newer version of the Dw9091. The newer battery has a better release latch that is indented deeper. You won't be able to accidentally hit it and have the battery fall off.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Re charge The battery though expensive was well worth it. After over 10 years in service used daily the old battery wouldn't hold a charge . This drill has outlasted several much newer and advanced DeWalt drills and batteries. I took the plunge to replace the battery. The new battery has performed out of the package . After charging to full it's great to have the power my drill was designed for. I guess buying the XPR level is worth the extra expence. When you depend on your tools to perform a little extra money is worth it. August 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Had What I Wanted This was a replacement for a 15+ year old battery. January 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by replacement 14.4 DeWalt batteries I t would be nice if HD and all the other home supply and hardware stores would discount this voltage batteries, have owned the tools since they first came out and have never, ever, been able to purchase at discount...... December 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Popped it in, and went right to work! Bought this battery for a battery powered mini circular saw that I inherited. I charged the battery and went right to work. August 11, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by The XRP was a real disappointment I bought a two pack of the XRP batteries, one conked out after a couple of months. The second dident hold up well. I just bought two aftermarket batteries. Ever hopefull. Never tried to return the batteries. May 28, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by An expensive battery.... It would have been cheaper for me to get a new screw gun, but I have multiple chargers and a trim saw that I need the battery for also, so I broke down and got it. I have only used it one time since the purchase, so I am not sure if it is a good value for the money or not. There are lots of competitors with similar products GE (the parent company of Dewalt, for those that don't know), and I am not really happy with my GE dishwasher that caught on fire in my kitchen, so wish me luck. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DeWalt 14.4 screw gun---my second one in 12 years--good value I have purchased aftermarket "no name" batteries and they don't hold a charge for very long. The DeWalt batteries cost more but are 4 to 5 times better. March 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bought this for my dad who already has a few batteries he just needed an extra You would have to ask my father he is the one that uses it February 19, 2015
