I need to order an air stabler/nailer for my son to install 3/4 inch thick oak plank flooring, I was told by lumber liquidator rep to make sure it was 15.5 gauge. Is a pneumatic and air stapler/nailer the same thing?
My son mentioned not to forget to order the air hose to connect the tool to the compressor. Does this Dewalt one get used with an air hose and compressor?
How do I know what staples to order to fit it?
How do I know what air hose to order to be used with it?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!

yes pneumatic means air. This stapler is much better than one from lumber liquidators! yes it needs air compressor and air hose. the staple and cleats you can get at home depot and will specify in instructions and are listed above in description. It takes 15.5 gauge staples or 16 gauge cleats up to 2 inches long. 3/8 air hose is what i use but even a 1/4 inch will work fine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works great Works just as expected. Should be able to sell it for what I paid cause one in town was twice as costly. June 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool for the job! This too is exactly what I needed. It was very simple to use for my first time flooring project. May 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dewalt flooring nailer The flooring nailer worked fairly well. I used the nails, not staples. Only problem I had was near end of clips gun would sometimes jam if I put a clip in before fully empty. Also, some times the spring loaded activator would jump the nail clip. Other than that- good quality. Set flooring tight and set nails perfectly. I'm a big Dewalt fan, just wish gun didn't jam a couple times. April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My every day hardwood nailer. I use this nailer every day for installing hardwood flooring of all types. It is a great value, and I only have a few complaints. The overall width from front to back is a little too much. It's hard to get in close to the walls, and off the first couple rows. Also, the rack for the cleats could hold them a little better without slipping. Having said that, for the money this is a GREAT flooring nailer. Compared to the standard nailers at twice the cost, I am thinking of getting another one. I use cleats not staples, and this nailer works every single day in a professional capacity. I like it a lot.
