I bought a 10" Ryobi mitre saw a few years back as an amateur and taught myself how to build different benches and planters for the yard. After getting a hang of things and building up a little wood working business I decided to upgrade to the DeWalt in January 2013. I've been using it for six months and it's been great! Accurate mitres and much more solid and sturdy than the Ryobi. I even still have the original blade on it. I cut 4x4s, mini ties, and everything smaller than that without any troubles. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a saw to use around the house to build a deck or doing trim.

Got this on sale.....Big Makita fan myself, but preferred this saw to the makita in this price range....kept an open mind and do not regret it....liked the smooth cuts right away.....tested for accuracy and the angles are bang on right out of the box.......

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GeorgeH Love it!
Completed my first sub-project floor laminating our master's bedroom (2 bedrooms and a whole living area to go). This tool has passed with flying colors. Added the Laser accessory to make work easier. The only negative that I can think of but a really minor one at that is the fact that the pouch that's supposed to catch the sawdust hardly does. As I said it's nothing to cry about as I have a large work vac anyway.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ClassicGarage The Best Miter Saw I've Ever Owned
I love woodworking, and before my wife bought me this saw, I did all of my cutting by hand, and by hand I mean miter box and hand saw. It was a great workout, and after many failed attempts I did start to get strait square cuts. After my wife got me this a year ago, I think I’ve only used my hand saw once. I use it for almost everything, from 4x4’s to 1x2’s and even some crown molding for some bookshelves I made one. With the vacuum attachment dust collection is a snap, my work and work area stays clean and safe. With the Precision Track and Stop System also from Home Depot, I can break the golden rule of cutting, measure once cut once, or twice, of 10 times. It’s a perfect saw if you love woodworking and are just getting started.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SmallManufacturer Rock solid
I've burned up more miter saws than most people will own. They're used in a light manufacturing environment and most simply aren't up to hundreds of cycles per day. Although I would've preferred a sliding saw for flexibility to do those odd projects, after playing with the saws in the store, I conceded that I couldn't get the rock-solid stability in a sliding saw that I found in this saw.
No side-to-side flex, no blade wobble, no cheap blade guard mechanisms...all just solid. The gears are very quiet too. My last saw growled like an angry badger.
If you need a saw that does exactly what it's supposed to do without compromise, every time, get this saw. It's a little more expensive, but worth it, if you can afford it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by VTwoodworker Precise and accurate
This saw is both precise and accurate. I can cut the same cut multiple times and it's on the mark each time. I originally bought the Ridgid 10" miter because it was $30 cheaper, but ended up returning it because the cuts just were not accurate. I'm very pleased with this tool - it does everything it claims to do and it does it well.
The only thing the saw doesn't have that I would like is a clamp. Without a built in clamp I find that my own clamps sometimes get in the way when doing bevel cuts (especially when the board is shorter). Therefore, you have to play around a bit to get the piece clamped down properly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PADOITYOURSELF Excellent Saw
The saw was assembled and the lift handle on top is a great feature. Saw blade was flush with L square at zero crosscout and 45 bevel. Changed out 40 tooth carbide blade to 60 tooth to cut chair rail. Excellent finished cuts at every angle including bevel. Return cuts were clean. No splintering. Love the electric brake. I would highly recommend this saw. User manual was clear and concise. Make sure you read it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 12 yrs and going strong
I bought the saw 12 years ago after a 2year old Hi***hi saw lost its accuracy. I am a pro and most of the guys I work with have one of these and use it as their go to saw. The 10 inch slide is great for wider cuts but not one saw I used in the past 25 years has come close to the precision found on this one. I probably will buy another for a backup if mine ever does puke. Awesome saw!!
