how wide of a board will the 10" cut? If the board is to wide do you flip it to complete the cut and is it accurate?

Answer:
Will cut up to 6" boards. You can try flipping board for wide cuts if you have some experience or practice. But i recommend a bigger saw or sliding saw if your looking for perfect cuts or if you are making a lot of wide cuts. Good Luck.

At 0 degree crosscut will cut 6.1". At 45 degree crosscut 4.2". These are max widths. if I had wider boards I would use a circular or rolling compound mitre saw.

5-1/2 inches is the max cutting width, and if you use stops for your cuts it is very accurate to flip and cut.

I have cut a board that was 14" wide. I made the initial cut and then turned the board over to complete the cut. If you take the time to verify alignment then your cut will appear as a single cut.

I have cut boards up to about 6" wide. I'm not sure if that is the limit, though. If you want to cut wider boards, I would suggest a sliding compound miter saw or a table saw with a crosscut sled.

At 8" wide, you'll need to flip the board. It only missed the full cut by maybe an inch.

Hi Dam7, this saw will cut a maximum of 6" inches across. If you have a wider board, it should be cut on a radial arm or table saw.

Saw here at home depot, saved to shopping list but picked up new at a closeout elsewhere for $70 less. High quality, outstanding saw. Does exactly what its supposed to do within it's specs. Out of the box, it was just 1/16 of an inch off but thats what the adjuster is for and took less than 5 seconds to fine tune with a square. If i could give it a 10 star rating, i would. Great tool.

i just bought this saw a couple of days ago and it is amazing. this saw cuts 2x4's like a hot knife through butter. it came perfectly square right out of the box, and the blade that came with it was great as well. for the price, this saw can not be beat. it even cut a 4x4 smoothly. which surprised me. the dust collection collects about 7/8's of the dust leaving me with very little clean up to do. if you have to get a smaller portable saw. this saw is the right one for you!
and no i do not work for home depot.

I love woodworking, and before my wife bought me this saw, I did all of my cutting by hand, and by hand I mean miter box and hand saw. It was a great workout, and after many failed attempts I did start to get strait square cuts. After my wife got me this a year ago, I think I’ve only used my hand saw once. I use it for almost everything, from 4x4’s to 1x2’s and even some crown molding for some bookshelves I made one. With the vacuum attachment dust collection is a snap, my work and work area stays clean and safe. With the Precision Track and Stop System also from Home Depot, I can break the golden rule of cutting, measure once cut once, or twice, of 10 times. It’s a perfect saw if you love woodworking and are just getting started.

I borrowed three brands of saws from people to cut crown molding. Crown molding is frustrating enough if you have out of square corners. A bad makes it even worse. I finally went get this saw and I wish I had bought it sooner. I would have saved a couple days of aggravation. It cuts dead on the money and if you cut slow it doesn't splinter. I also picked up a crown king which helped

As a professional flooring installer I have to cut anywhere from 25-50 ends off hardwood daily. This is the only miter saw that stays true at 90 and the table still swivels clean after dust and debris collect. The dust collection is decent, but the best feature on this saw is it's motor.....can't trump 15a at 5000 rpm.

I bought the saw 12 years ago after a 2year old Hi***hi saw lost its accuracy. I am a pro and most of the guys I work with have one of these and use it as their go to saw. The 10 inch slide is great for wider cuts but not one saw I used in the past 25 years has come close to the precision found on this one. I probably will buy another for a backup if mine ever does puke. Awesome saw!!
