Answer:
Will cut up to 6" boards. You can try flipping board for wide cuts if you have some experience or practice. But i recommend a bigger saw or sliding saw if your looking for perfect cuts or if you are making a lot of wide cuts. Good Luck.

Answer:
At 0 degree crosscut will cut 6.1". At 45 degree crosscut 4.2". These are max widths. if I had wider boards I would use a circular or rolling compound mitre saw.

Answer:
5-1/2 inches is the max cutting width, and if you use stops for your cuts it is very accurate to flip and cut.

Answer:
I have cut a board that was 14" wide. I made the initial cut and then turned the board over to complete the cut. If you take the time to verify alignment then your cut will appear as a single cut.

I have cut boards up to about 6" wide. I'm not sure if that is the limit, though. If you want to cut wider boards, I would suggest a sliding compound miter saw or a table saw with a crosscut sled.

At 8" wide, you'll need to flip the board. It only missed the full cut by maybe an inch.

Hi Dam7, this saw will cut a maximum of 6" inches across. If you have a wider board, it should be cut on a radial arm or table saw.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 94 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great, but missing left side fence, dust bag and blade wrench. Product runs well and has no trouble screaming to life- would recommend to anyone from homeowner to pro, BUT... BIG disappointment- The saw didn't come with the left side sliding fence for crown, no dust bag and no blade wrench. The fence is available from the manufacturer, but it's $40 for a piece of aluminum and a wing nut!!!!! Huge let down here and the store can't help because they're not a common items. I can deal without a bag or wrench, but no fence stinks. Trying to determine if I can make my own out of wood. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Incredible value for less than $225.00 I last purchased a Makita chop saw for $300 in 1987 ($600 in 2016 dollars). I did not expect a DeWalt chop saw that costs less than $225 to be more than a cheap backup to my Makita chop saw. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised when I started using the DeWalt chop saw. It is well made and it has more features than my Makita chop saw. It seems to be a durable, well designed and well made chop saw. August 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Saw Miter saw is a DIY must Replaced my old Dewalt with a new one There is an issue with the cutting platform not being level but they all seem to be that way Other than that - could not be happier August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic saw at fantastic price I needed a miter saw for the wood base and door casing that I was going to replace throughout my house. I was in Home Depot and saw this DeWalt for $219. After reading all of the other 5 star reviews I decided to buy it. What a great choice I made. Not much to say really, it's a DeWalt, so you know that it's good. Quality is great, it's nice and heavy. Cuts are perfect. Very portable. The thing that sold me on this was the price. For barely over $200 I now own an awesome miter saw that I will never have to borrow from someone again. I plan on getting many years of great use from this saw! July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product at a reasonable price This miter saw is perfect for the type of DIY I do around my house. So far, it's been used to cut base boards and trim. Very pleased. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding tool Opened the box, pulled out the saw and 1 hours later I had a beautiful picnic table. This saw is easy to use and perfect for DIY. July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Little Saw Bought the Rigid 10" miter and returned it. Couldn't adjust the laser to 100% accuracy. Bought the Dewalt and love the size, quality and out of the box accuracy. I have rehabbed over 1200 houses and own dozens of power tools. There is no substitute for quality no matter if you use a tool 1x a year or everyday. Dewalt, Milwaukee and Bosch want to make a better tool, price is secondary. Hitachi, Rigid & Porter Cable want to make inexpensive tools where price is first and quality second. If price is an issue wait and buy the Dewalt it's well worth the extra cost. May 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Machine Super easy to set up and use. Way better then a hand saw! I am a casual user so I am not sure how good it would be in a professional setting, but so far no issues at all. June 14, 2016
