It rarely goes below p freezing here, but it is possible. Also, are there any particular safety or maintenance things I should do to help preserve saw and cart, if leaving in garage unused for extended time periods?

Sorry for easy questions. I am new to woodworking, and this is a big purchase for me.

Bill,
I live by the beach in SoCal and my garage doesn't have HVAC either, while it never gets that hot or cold here I still have the ocean air to deal with and I haven't experienced any problems. This saw is well built and the table top isn't made of steel like the ones from woodshop so you don't have to worry about it. The frame of the saw and the carrier is all powder coated with a thick covering of black paint so if it doesn't get scratched it shouldn't rust. You might want to spray a mist of WD40 or something like it on the other parts of the saw from time to time.

15 Amp 10 in. Job Site Table Saw with Rolling Stand is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 132.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the saw I was expecting. I had actually wanted this saw for a couple years now. Finally bit the bullet and ordered it through the HD website. Everything went well. Shipping was quicker than expected and HD was very helpful when I went to pick it up. Box was in flawless condition. Took pictures of the unpacking and all the parts. One or two of the bags of screws had come open and spilled around. Everything was still there though. Pro's Assembly was pretty straight forward. Bags were all labelled which made it pretty simple. Stand is very sturdy and stable. Love the rack and pinion setup and the cutting width. Nice working height for me anyway. Con's 1)There was a chip out of the table top finish about the size of a popcorn kernel. 2) The throat plate is mostly plastic and it was warped enough to I couldn't get it flush. This is a contractor saw and the top is going to get scratched and everyone makes new throat plates anyway, so I still wasn't all that concerned. Over all, I really liked this saw a lot and still wanted to keep it. The 3rd thing I found made me return it though.... The table top was bowed/ripply by an 1/8 of an inch in one spot! Also, when I was adjusting my Incra miter gauge, I found the tracks were not a uniform width the entire length. I was so totally dismayed how this made it through quality checks.. Very glad I took pictures of the unpacking cause you have to re-box it before you can take it back. I must say, it was quite a fun puzzle to solve. Took it back to HD and they were very nice and refunded me promptly with no fuss. I turned right around and picked up the Rigid one. (Didn't trust the Dewalt one anymore and didn't want to wait for shipping.) Had the tabletop on the Dewalt been better, it would have been saw I had been hoping for all this time...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I should have bought this years ago I have only had this saw for just under 3 months now, I usually don't like to jump the gun and write a review for something until I have been able to use the product for around a year, how ever this is one thing that was put through the paces really quick and really hard in my shop since it is probably my most important piece of machinery in the shop and my money maker. This saw is so easy to assemble and make the fence, bevel and blade adjustments my friends 10 year old daughter could do it, I read every review on this saw I could find anywhere and I did not have one issue that other people complained about, my top is perfectly flat with no blemishes at all, the stand is sturdy, the stock blade is actually decent, my miter Gage was metal but I use an aftermarket one anyway so no big deal for me. If you are looking for the dado plate insert for this saw this is the one you want DWE7402DI. I have a very small work area in my shop this folds up nice and stores out of the way when not in use but when it's in use this will work and cut as good as any full size cabinet saw. The rack and pinion style fence is awesome and very precise. If your professional reputation is based on your end results, then you should be using this saw. I'm not some guy with a week or 2 of experience, I'm not a weekend warrior or avid do it yourselfer, I am not some guy sitting here writing a review saying how I haven't used the saw yet but it looks nice and like a quality machine so here's my 5 start rating now go buy one just because, I am professional of 20 years who has learned a lot of lessons the hard way and wished back in the day there was the internet to read reviews on, you can use after market accessories like a tenoning jig, sled, miter gage, etc with this saw and I will tell you with the fence system on this saw it speeds up the process and has improved my end results dramatically.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I can't believe the good reviews. The one I got was garbage. It wasn't possible to square the blade to the miter slots. It hit a stop. The table was dipped in toward the blade. The front left table dropped 1/4". The fence leaned in about 1/8". The far end of the fence had so much plastic sticking past it, you couldn't have slid anything past it without hanging up. Never plugged it in. Totally unusable .

Home Depot had is stock with free shipping and it came quick and in top shape. I haven't used it yet, but it went together very easy and ended up more solid on the cart than I had hoped for. Did have time to check square and it was close enough to use from the factory with minor adjustment to be spot on. I looked for over 3 months at saws, as I never impulse buy, this tool (as far as perceived quality) so far as others have reviewed, feels like a solid choice. Only have cut some test pieces, so cant really elaborate on long term use, but smooth as silk on those small cuts. Only 4 stars because I have little time on the tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent hardware; set up instructions wanting Bought on-line and absolutely no problems with a timely delivery. Well packaged and in excellent shape when opened. Biggest problem with set up are the teensy illustrations. Surely they could invest in larger size paper. If this is first table saw must proceed very very slowly to get it right. But saw cuts well, has adequate power, well made. Worth the effort in getting it set up.

The DeWalt DWE7491RS is heavy weight competitor in the Job Site Saw category. With the stand this saw is a hefty 90 lbs making it stable for bulky and/or heavy work pieces. The stand is very sturdy but takes several steps to set-up compared to say the Bosch in the same category. I really like the rack and pinon fence as it allows for greater precision and faster set up. And, I like the 3 year warranty. Also, this saw does accept a dado stack. The on-board storage is lacking a place for the fence and a spare blade. Other wise I really like this saw. See a video review of this saw here: https://youtu.be/oV6uC2pOEvU

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I'm a weekend DIYer and I am in love with my table saw. It was easy to put the stand together and the saw worked well right out of the box. Unless you're already familiar with how to use this saw, I would suggest watching a few YouTube videos. I wasn't crazy about their instruction booklet.

Great value for the money, the only minus is the miter gauge wobbles a bit in the t slot (no bar adjusters on the included miter gauge so plan to invest in an aftermarket miter gauge if you need accuracy in your crosscuts). The portability is a plus, it's easy to move around from room to room as work is being done, or permanently mounted to a table if needed. Because the fence uses both front and rear rails locking is positive, but adding an outfeed table may require some effort... this is not a unisaw, nor are you paying for one. I've found the motor to have more than enough power with the included blade for both ripping and crosscutting standard construction materials; I've not yet tried to dado or cut exotics.
