CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 80 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best saw i was recommended by a friend to buy a saw the deal and price got me attracted to this saw. turns out to be the best saw. this has the best cutting capacity. mine is mostly household work but i was conrgatualted by a family memeber who runs contracting business upon this saws purchase. highly recomended to any one. the molding and anything else the saw simply rips through .I wish the laser fitting was attached along. ALso i did get a free reciprocating saw boy am i happy with this deal. Check out dewalts flyer at homedepot and deals mine worked out too good to be true.real happy camper since june 07 September 18, 2007
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Saw The saw, while large, is great to work with and has all the power you need to get the job done. The motor has more than enough power (enough to jerk your arm quickly the first time you use it) and adjustable fence, adjustable mitre stops are great. I'll be the first to say that the dust collection is fairly useless, but it is saw and not a vacuum. All it all, with the saws that I researched and looked into (Consumer Reports, Internet, etc.), this was the best choice for the money - it really doesn't need the laser, if you can't measure and don't know how to use a pencil, don't blame the saw... Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Accurate, fast & great capacity My second saw, this is so much better, locking mechanism and detent plate makes for fast and repeatable cuts. Checked the cut when first taken out of the box, spot on and has stayed perfect since. With some care it is possible to work to about +/-0.5mm on straight cuts and simple miter angles, and about +/-1 degree on the bevel tilts. In addition to speed, and accuracy the capacity is the about the best, 16" for a straight cut, 4" vertical, 60 degree miter. Used this saw to build a 'post and beam' style stair case where the treads are made from 3" x 12" stock as are the stringers, which were about 80" long - lots of complex miter cuts, wanted to keep it really accurate - this saw made it possible. Thoroughly recommend it. August 28, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice saw Great value since this comes with the stand! Very accurate and square. The bevel has stops which makes it handy, but if you need an angle that does not have a stop, the saw can slip a little. There's probably something I can tighten to fix that. The laser option is ok so far (people say it goes out of whack after a few cuts but its been pretty stable for me). The built in clamp is a nice touch, but its slipped on me.. on that note i find it a little awkward to apply your own clamps to this saw.. overall, excellent saw! April 28, 2008
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saw and Stand I just bought the last saw and stand package from one of the stores. The combo works great for me. Even with the saw on the stand, you can move the unit around. It is not too heavey. The ultimate would be if it had a single wheel on it. I plan to mount two caster wheels just to make the unit super mobile. The saw works great. I was able to rip a 2x4 lengthwise that was just under 14" in length. A 3 year warrenty. If you can find any more of the package deals, don't hesitate, good deal for your money. February 27, 2007
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A step back from the previous model Not a bad offering by deWalt, but at that price, I expect perfection. First thing first, the casting is somewhat shoddy on this saw when compared to a Bosch unit. Dust collection is a joke. The detent override is this tiny, impossible to grasp knob. The lock for the slide is too big and too close to the motor when the saw is fully retracted. When the head is up and can pinch your hand. It’s got lots of power and huge capacity, but I think it was a step back from the previous model DW708. November 2, 2006
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by good saw but could be better designed I like that it cuts 16" across. But this saw is not as accurate as the highly regarded 708 model I had before. The 16" cutting capacity design comes at the price of a greater chance of the blade grabbing the workpiece and kicking it up. But if you are careful and aware of your cutting it shouldn't be problem. The one major problem I have with this machine is that the dust extraction piece intrudes into the work area. So if you plan to cut something quite thick or even large crown on angle it has to be a "press cut." That was really stupid and it's the only saw that has that problem. I would also like to see miter saws sold in Canada with crown miter dents/stops made for Canadian crown moulding (45 degree sprung angle) as opposed to the American crown (38 degree sprung angle)for which these saws are set up. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by If it ain't yellow and black then take it back! I started using DeWALT in my grade 9 woodshop and will never use anything else. My class used our single bevel 10 inch to cut 12" pieces from 12 foot pieces because our other sliding miter (other brand) couldn't make a single straight cut without kickback and nearly cutting your arm off true story. I used it every day to make a muskoka chair by myself and was absolutely perfect for cutting the slits on the chair. I will never buy another brand and I'm only 16. July 12, 2009
