I'm just a DIY guy and I enjoy quality! I purchased this a year ago with the bonus collapsible stand and have used it many times from cutting trim and crown to normal lumber. The 60T fine blade that comes with it produces a nice smooth cut. I also purchased an 80T blade for more precise work. The locking mechanism for the angles is nice and precise. The dust bag works well but still isn't mess free. I'm not too big on the light, I would of rather seen a laser; but it's still a good guide. Overall its a great addition to my tools and I recommend this to anyone!

This saw has good solid construction and offers a useful selection of adjustments to help with those accurate cuts. It's a little heavy for lifting but this the only drawback I have experienced with this saw. I would give this tool a high recommended!

I am a beginner and this is my first miter saw but when I use this machine I feel like a pro cause it's so easy to use, so accurate just make me want to do different project one after another. And it came with free Dewalt stand. I love this miter saw!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BHG High claims. Very low quality and accuracy.
This saw claims it is high on accuracy and quality. I had extreme buyer's remorse after using this saw. I work as a full time high school shop teacher and I expect accurate and durable tools. I normally wouldn't bother to write this harsh of a review but this takes the cake. It's hard to believe the great ratings on this. People writing positive reviews for this either have no clue about what they're doing or they work for Dewalt. Among the glowing reviews there are negative reviews, many of which mention rough slides, most of those being from several years ago. When I bought this saw, I assumed that Dewalt would have fixed this issue by now. Keep in mind that this review is for the "Type 20" version. First thing out of the box was that you can immediately see that the workmanship is subpar at best. Pits, burrs, dents, deep abrasions, and gaps everywhere, and the plastic blade guard is bent and warped. Then those slide rails... could they have made them any thinner? The metal for the rails is very soft and light-duty, especially for a saw that weighs as much as this one. Severely flawed engineering and I can tell you despite all the feedback from their customers they haven't changed a thing. Now to the accuracy. This saw has very bad blade wobble, with the saw head fully extended there is about 1/4 inch play from side to side, and the tall fence is unable to be adjusted to eliminate the 3/16" of play from front to back (not keeping it square to the turntable). I would never cut expensive hardwood with this thing! Also, the rear tri-force control knob for bevel has stripped out after five days of (very light) use. The locking mechanisms on both fences have also stripped out. The screws for four of the nine bevel detent stops (including the 90-degree stop) have also stripped out. The miter lock cam handle no longer fully releases the miter. Extremely disappointed in this saw. The DW708 used to be the best sliding miter saw ever made. Not this one! After I discovered these problems, our school took this saw to the nearest authorized service center to get it fixed and they did not fix it. This saw falls extremely short on quality and accuracy that were promised in the advertisements.
Look at Makita. Yes, their 12 inch sliding miter saws weigh a few more pounds but there is a reason they put 4 rails on the newest model. There is also a reason that their drive motor is connected to a soft-start electronic controller. They don't skimp. Ever. I learned my lesson.
I gave it 1 star because it was literally useless to me. If there were an option for zero stars, that would be my rating. The lack of proper workmanship was a total deal breaker.

In my picture you will see my new DeWalt saw in action. My Builder likes it as much as me. He even commented on the LED light marker, " I have never, ever seen any other saw that has a perfectly accurate light marker as this one" Nice...

Originally bought the Rigid 10” slider, tested 2 of them and they were not accurate. The guys at HD were great and cut me a deal on this one and I couldn’t be happier. It cuts accurate out of the box and I love having the built in light. I didn’t get the stand with it because I didn’t want it. I will be ordering the Rigid MSUV stand once it comes on sale. I’ll also point out I’m glad it doesn’t have a laser, yes they might sound cool, but most of the time they aren’t accurate and the new method of using the light to shadow the blade to show you were the cut will be works so well. It’s a simple yet brilliant idea because it lights your piece and tells you were the blade will come down at. If you’re cutting angles, it makes it much easier to line them up the first time.

I bought this saw to install wood floors and to cut lumber to size for my deck. We use the same saw at Boeing to cut large aluminum extrusions for many hours each day for the past 3 years and it still operates as well as the day it was purchased. I purchased the portable stand made for it and it was the best decision I made. Together, I have a saw that is highly functional and extremely mobile with quick and easy setup. The one extra attachment that I would recommend is the laser.
This saw is well built and well worth the investment!
