Can you run 2 coil nail guns off this with a Y adapter

Asked by: Grant
As long as the CFM required of each nail gun added together does not exceed the CFM output of the compressor, you could. However, with only a 15-gallon tank, you may be waiting for it to refill on a regular basis.

Can I winterize an underground sprinkler system with this?

Asked by: Jack
Not knowing how large of a system you have makes this difficult. So Just be aware that it may not powerful enough to blow out the entire system at once. But you can blow it out zone by zone. If you're into number crunching and you have the original irrigation layout showing the gallons per minute (gpm) of each sprinkler head, just divide the total gpm of each zone by 7.5. That will give you the cubic feet per minute (cfm) you need to blow it out. Set the compressor air pressure regulator to a maximum of 80 psi for rigid PVC pipe systems, or 50 psi for flexible black polyethylene pipe. Then turn off the water supply and set the system timer to open just one zone. Next, open the manual drain valve at the end of that zone (if equipped). Then, connect the air line to the blow-out port. Connect the other end of the air hose to the compressor and blow out the line. The heads should pop up and spit out water. Disconnect the hose as soon as they run dry. Don't overdo the blowout—without water cooling the plastic gears, they can melt in less than a minute. So move on to the next zone and allow the heads to cool. Then go back and blow out each zone a second time. Cheers!

15 Gal. Portable Electric Air Compressor is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 88.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well, but beware I have owned this compressor for a few years, and use it very little. I went out to my shop to use it, only to discover the pressure valve handle had self destructed, apparently throwing its innards around the shop. You can't just replace the valve, you have to replace the whole assembly. The assembly costs about 25% of the cost of the entire compressor. It's a good design, and a great asset for the garage, but I am concerned about Dewalt's decision to have their products built in China.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked for 4 years then failed I'm a very light user. Worked for about 3 years until the pump started overheating and tripping my 20amp circuit breaker. I started smelling a bad odor coming from the unit. It finally stopped running all together. My local DeWalt repair shop quoted $210 to replace the motor. The DeWalt looked nice. Tires were sturdy and felt solid. No place to store accessories. I thought the motor should have lasted a few years longer due to the light usage and proper storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Compressor, Small Footprint! This compressor is awesome! All that was required to get going was two nuts and bolts for the wheels. After that, plug and go. It is not a loud compressor by any means and holds more than enough air and pressure for any home DIY job I could imagine. The wheels allow to me roll around with me if needed for any job. The best part about it is that it sits vertical. I have it in the corner of my garage and can hook straight to it with minimal obstruction. They never disappoints.

Dewalt charges a premium for their products, and most of the time, I feel the premium is justified, but with this compressor, I don't feel it is. I haven't used it all that much, but I will share my first impression. All compressors are loud, and this one is no different. You'd think that someone could find a way to make a compressor that was quieter. This unit has a slow air-leak, so even if you don't use any air, it will kick on after a couple of hours. There is no good place to hang a coiled air-hose, and no place at all to store simple air tools like a spray nozzle or tire inflator. The unit is top heavy. I'm not concerned that it will tip over, but you notice the weight when you move it around. They should've mounted the compressor/motor below the tank, which would've moved the weight lower. So far, if I were buying again, I would forgo the premium price for the yellow paint, and buy something cheaper.

One thing to note that this isn't a lubricated pump, so you can only run the compressor 5min at a time or it will overheat. This is a great size compressor to have in the garage or light commercial use. I used this to blow out my sprinkler system, it works beautifully.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Working fine for now Was hoping this compressor would be noticeably quieter than my smaller 10 gallon, but it seems about as loud. Don't have a decibel meter so I can't verify the 78dBA rating. From a performance standpoint, however, this is exactly what I needed. It handles my air tools (impact, air ratchet, palm nailer) just without any issues and recovery time is pretty quick. The adjustment knob is easy to use and I like the fact that it can be locked in place once you have it set to the pressure you wanted. I'm also a fan of the gauges, which are large and easy to read. Build quality seems good, but I was a bit shocked to see that they used a rubber hose from the tank to regulator rather than a metal pipe. I'm also not a fan of having the drain valve on the side of the tank where the wheels are as it hangs pretty low when pulling the compressor around and gets hung up on items on the ground (garden hoses, downspout extension, garage floor drop off). But all in all, this is a good compressor and is serving me well for now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from dewalt 15 gallon compressor Bought this compressor because i thought Dewalt was quality stuff, boy was i wrong, after 3 light uses the regulator seized up and this was 6 days out of warranty...garbage!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product from the start, still is. We had a Husky compressor for years and it seized up, rather than breaking it apart, we chose to get another one, this time we got a better one. It is awesome.
