Answer:
If I remember correctly, the nailer with the lesser price is "just" the nailer by itself...where as the higher priced item comes with a nice Dewalt case, a battery, and safety glasses. Consider the case for shipping purposes and storage options.

Answer:
I presume you are asking Home Depot this question, and you have to really read all the descripions. The cheaper nailer is the nail gun ONLY! Nothing else. The more expensive nailer comes with one battery, one charger, the nailer, and a hard case. So it is let the buyer beware, because one says "tool only" and the other is a brad nailer combination kit.

Answer:
One is most likely the kit which includes battery, case and charger, the other is just the tool. Occasionally the kit will come with two batteries or other items as a promotional deal which may or may not affect price. The standalone tool is normally bought by someone who already owns other tools in the 18v XRP product line and already has batteries and one or more chargers.

Answer:
18 gauge is the thickness if the brad (nail). 18v is voltage or power of the cordless tool. 18v is very good. 20v is better but overkill!

Looks as if the lower priced one does not include the rechargeable battery & charger (for customers who already own them with other Dewalt battery-operated products.)

Answer:
Yes, and it's an extra-life 18v battery.
I found it quite long lasting, and I can also use my two regular 18v batteries from my DeWalt drill in the nail gun.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 90 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by What you'd expect from DeWalt! I have been using this nail gun for about a week. Easy to handle and operate. I think I will buy another battery to go with the one that came with the kit. I built a cedar dog house right out of the gate. It handled small pieces of trim to larger sheets of siding and plywood with ease. January 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product This nailer has all the power you need. Even 2" Brads are completely embedded, something other nailers I've used did not do. It's also great not to be bothered with cords or lines when nailing in tight areas. It is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. In this case you get a great nailer. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loving my Dewalt Cordless Nailgun Ihighlyrecommendthisguntoanyone that doesn't wantthe hassle andinconvenience ofpneumatic. I love this gun ! Female friendly easy to handle April 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works as expected. No problems so far. It is a little heavier than the more expensive gas powered Paslode versions of these "cordless" nailers, but still better than dragging a air line around. May 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by one of my favorite tools I have used this tool for a couple of months now. I am retired and live in the country with lots of projects I am doing on my property. I love this brad nailer. It has been reliable and frees me from air hoses and noisey air compressors. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Powerful just like a gas power I have a Passole 18 ga battery/gas and 15ga senco fusion. This Dewalt out perform the passole. It drive 2" nail into oak, 1" 1/4 nail into pine easily with no smelly fume. It does not have recoid like my senco fusion-it work as fast as my 18ga normal air gun. Only flaw: the nosepiece is flimsy weak, i bend it twice when i depress the nose at an angle. The gun is also heavy and bulky. Yes, for all of the flaws, i still like it better than my gas nail gun. January 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Purchase Ever Cordless Brad Nailer is the best product, easy to use and understand with no cords March 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just as good as the 16 gauge gun I bought over ten years ago. I have been using my 16 gauge straight nailer for over ten years. That was all I need to buy the 18 gauge. I have done three jobs and it looks like this one is just as good. People still ask me about my Dewalt 16 gauge like it's unusual. Both are fine tools....I assume the 18 gauge will last as long as my 16 gauge has. No air hose, quick and easy.... January 12, 2016
